Pros

Surprisingly fun. Had interesting problems to work on. My work is actually being used to improve the product! My manager was top-notch, making sure I had work to do (was never just twiddling my thumbs) while ensuring that I wasn't stressed out and that I was enjoying my time here. Everyone is more than willing to help out. Good work-life balance with fun company outings and manager was very flexible with my schedule. Foosball and kinda Bocce.

Cons

Lunch options are salad or microwave pasta (but free lunch is free lunch). Salary lower than hoping, but got valuable startup experience. First manager left after two weeks since I joined, but my next manager was also top-notch.

Pros

Amazing group of people, supportive, promote individualized exploration and growth (personally and professionally), snacks!, interns are REALLY valued, work/life balance, and amazing potential for a start-up if you decide you want to convert to full-time!

Cons

I really can't think of anything...

Pros

Virtual Power Systems was a great opportunity for me to work along side people who are building a very cool product. As an intern, I received valuable experience working on real projects. I learned the structure of working on a development team, while also learning to be flexible in a dynamic startup environment. The product is innovative, unique, and deals with areas beyond your typical app. This gave room to learn a lot of new things, in areas I never thought I would learn about. Everyone at the company was extremely friendly and welcoming from day one. Whenever I had a question about something, my team or anyone, was more than willing to answer them. The people are hard working, but also know how to relax and play some fooseball/bocce ball, have lunch outings, etc. Was definitely a positive experience.

Cons

There was some internal disorganization amongst the team at times. However this is probably something not uncommon at a startup.
