Pros
Watersedge Recovery truly cares about their clients. I saw the owner and managers shell out company (and personal) money to buy patients meds and other necessities when they didn't have to.
I have been told by many clients that the clinical care at Watersedge was the best they had ever experienced. The therapists were genuine and loved the clients. They also have a motivational speaker on staff (Anthony Chambers) whom the clients really seemed to get a lot from.
Clinical always provided support to the tech staff. Problem clients were dealt with and given consequences, which made my job easier.
There was such a strong family atmosphere here. My supervisors and everyone above them always treated everyone with the utmost respect.
Cons
Like all growing companies, Watersedge transitioned from its small beginnings to a medium sized corporate entity. This transition was by no means smooth, and the company failed to show security during this critical time when everyone was watching.
Layoffs were sweeping and unprecedented. One day we were told that all the case managers were fired. Some weeks we would learn of a dozen or more people fired. All this while the number of clients in treatment dwindled to the lowest number I had seen.
I understand companies need to plug leaks and find ways to turn loss into profit, but when there is no warning or explanation given, these moves look wild and irrational. It makes you feel like you're on a sinking ship, which is why I quit when I did.
Despite this criticism, I still have the highest regard for Watersedge recovery, and wish the company the best.
