I have been working at Endurance International Group full-time

    Pros

Great teams, amazing work culture, cutting edge tech stack, techie fellow colleagues is what Directi was, but then it got acquired by Endurance.

Few of the above elements are still present but they are vanishing fast.

    Cons

Most of the good leaders/seniors of the Directi era(who made this company what it is), left this company (and joined back their old teams). And its still happening: almost every week we get news of people leaving.

New management is clueless and doesn't have clear roadmap and vision.

So in absence of the old leaders and in presence of clueless new leaders, the middle layer managers are dancing on the rope creating chaos.

Most projects have tech stack which is very old. And they are in a state where it is practically impossible to update/refactor the it. And worst part is: refactoring/update is not even in roadmap.

Lack of new business ideas leading to lack of new projects leading to lack of growth/learning opportunities to existing employees.

All the perks like free snacks etc are being taken off slowly.

    Advice to Management

Your job is to lead, set up vision and lay out a roadmap. Do your job, that is what you are paid for.

I worked at Endurance International Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Have to really think there is something. Only good events by HR team to distract everyone from actual truth and reality of layoffs and no roadmap.

    Cons

Perfect place to spoil your career. High level of politics in all teams. No good projects & work is redundant. No free snacks as used to be. Food is bad. Extremely bad culture. Please dnt be a fool by watching videos and pictures on social media all is lie.

    Advice to Management

No use as they are stone headed people who think they have hired slaves

    Pros

    Best Salary comparable to google.
    Work life balance.
    monetary benifits

    Cons

Lack of learning opportunity. They still use old error filled legacy code(Java servlets) and waste all efforts trying to make things work on top of it.
huge middle layer bureaucracy managers working with the company for15 yrs and are only trying to focus on saving their jobs.
    Lack of resources
more time spent on bureaucracy and rules rather than a code.
India team wants to work but the US team provides enough hindrance.
focus is on business rather than code.
middle management is filled with engineers promoted too fast.
lack of support to genuine concerns of employees

    Advice to Management

    hire the old folks back.
focus on removing the legacy code.
fire i compretent middle layers managers and give more support and fredo to developers

    Pros

    * Provo office has catered lunches while SLC has snacks
    * Tuition reimbursement, awesome healthcare benefits
    * Utah-based leadership cares about people

    Cons

    * Teams spread across multiple offices each having their own culture and identity from each other is taxing. The Salt Lake City office is more liberal, upbeat, and extroverted while the Provo office is more conservative, reserved, and introverted. You can be on a team where you are the only member in one office while everyone else is in another.
    * Massive, convoluted code base
    * Some high-level engineers are resistant to change, specifically modern programming practices.
    * For Provo office in particular, many engineers measures success by story point completion instead of real world metrics (see measure what matters by John Doerr). Story points are valuable in estimation and planning but does not convey the impact of work done.
    * You can easily feel like you are a "lifer" on a rat-wheel. Many engineers in Provo will quote how work is their vacation and their real job is when they get home. This smells like an imbalance between work and life
    * The SLC upbeat culture is diminishing each day. All managers that had cultivated that culture are gone and will likely to continue to digress.

I have been working at Endurance International Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Love the company and the work. Fun projects and teams.

    Cons

EIG was an awesome place to work for until the acquisition of Constant Contact, once that happened it turned into "all hands on CTCT". Great people were pushed out or left because of the acquisition. They decided to get rid of the best Technical Recruiter the company had for years and now we're getting terrible candidates for our open roles. The stuff going on for the individual brands is great and all the negatives are having to deal with the revolving door of people in leadership roles and having to kiss the feet of all CTCT execs to appease them even though they were acquired...bleh

Also, pay here is terrible and not competitive in the tech industry. I get calls and emails all day about jobs paying a lot more than I currently make.

    Advice to Management

Jeff Fox, separate from CTCT and make EIG great again...
