I worked at Enterprise full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Biggest Pro: Other employers love to see this experience on your resume, so if you can stick it out for a couple years here, it is a great springboard into something you actually want to do- just don't get stuck here! The Management Training program puts a lot of hair on your chest so to speak- learning how to deal with difficult customers etc. but it is not for the faint of heart. The area managers throw some rager happy hours, and there is a surprising amount of celebrating and rewards surrounding drinking and going out to bars. The people that work there are really fun, so long as you are the socializing, partying type of person. I was, so I made a lot of really great friends and had some really good times. All in all, if you are willing to put in the extremely hard work and physical labor of washing cars, and stress of crappy customers, you'll most definitely get rewarded with some great times at the bar- and just maybe, you'll even get promoted.

    Cons

Upper management dishes out a lot of empty promises as far as promotions and potential to make more money. It's all really just a popularity contest and the politics involved are blatant, even though they claim it's based on performance. If you don't fit their frat-boy or sorority-girl mold, you are not welcome in the club- and you'll feel it! The management training program is pretty brutal- you wash oodles of cars by hand in the heat of summer and in the subzero temperatures of winter. The sales techniques they teach you are shady and outdated. They preach "work-life balance" and that is the biggest joke of all. The hours working in the rental branches get worse and worse as you move up from a trainee to a manager and the stress gets worse and worse. I came home from work crying from stress and long hours more times than I can count. It was impossible to fall asleep on a Sunday night because I knew I was going to walk in on Monday morning to be yelled at by customers and wash cars and run around like a crazy person from 7:00 am til about 2:00pm with no lunch break. It's not for the faint of heart- you have to handle difficult customers who treat you like trash often.

I worked at Enterprise full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Other companies know how hard you’ve worked at Enterprise

    Cons

Cult like business. They will promise you the world in training. The reality of the job is 55-60 hours per week, washing cars, bending over backwards for customers. You’ll never know when your going to finish work and can end up staying till 9-10pm at night if needed. Pay is minimum wage even if you are working overtime .The company prides itself on its so called ‘ethical conduct’, I’ve never worked for such a corrupt company. Employees are encouraged to rip off customers with dodgy sales tactics and out right lying to customers. The best at ‘sales’ are pushed and promoted regardless of how incompetent or corrupt they are. I’ve seen employees charging customers for damage they haven’t done and charging cards without permission. Upper management relentlessly micro manage and treat everyone like children. Anyone who dares to leave will be bad mouthed and blacklisted. They talk on how much money you can make but once you start earnings ‘too much’ they will get rid of you. No employee loyalty at all. Senior management are cult like leaders who demand endless worship and can’t listen to any feedback. Don’t you dare ever bring issues up or raise concerns or you’ll be gone. Single handily the worst company I’ve ever worked for. Check the Facebook page ‘things I learnt at Enteprise’, there is over 40,000 people slating the company and how bad it is to work for.
