Pros
Nice holiday party. Very responsive HR department. Leaving.
Cons
Sub average to average salaries, benefits and little to no work life balance. ECS is a butts in seats beltway bandit even though it bills itself as a consulting firm. If you are a new entrant into the workforce ECS may work for you. If you are an experienced (more than say 3 years) stay away, stay far far away. There is no career advancement path, no mentoring and the execs only seem concerned with keeping the books profitable for a sale in the next couple of years. Employees are cogs and expected to feel lucky you are a cog. This is a horrible company and should be avoided at all costs.

Pros
Flexible work schedules. Friendly co-workers for the most part. Regular paycheck.
Cons
Little to no mentoring program. Branch and project managers are more concerned with keeping themselves billable. Average benefits compared to industry. Work is 90% retail petroleum and 75% of that is dependent on state reimbursement. New work isn't significant enough to grow individual offices or provide career opportunities. As a result, higher than average turnover at staff levels.

ECS supports my personal and professional growth far better than any other company I have worked for.
19 Nov 2014 - Senior ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Employee owned company with profit sharing. Varied customer base and service lines, with in house training department. Exceptional service line diversity for a mid-sized company. There is nothing holding you back at ECS. Your opportunities are only limited by your imagination.
Cons
Management has a difficult time establishing clear expectations. Poor performance is tolerated far longer than it should be. Excellent performance is not recognized quickly enough. Communication could be much better.

Pros
I enjoyed working with the staff and consumers each day. Staff was very encouraging and made things fun. Working in this field could be challenging but very rewarding. I enjoyed making a difference in peoples lives, giving them tools to help the succeed in life.
Cons
I didn't have any cons really. I felt that the business was managed well and worked well with their employees. They were very understanding and appreciated the staffs input and suggestions.

Pros
Good technical management to work with. Good training for entry level position. Some performance based incentives. Good office environment and all the coffee you can drink
Cons
Did not pay very high and the hours were very variable. Was told that I could get 40 hours a week and sometimes it would be less than 10. Good work was often overlooked.

Love the people, No room for advancement NO RAISES
6 Jul 2016 - Unspecified in Springfield, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Most people here are all extremely smart, hard working and know their stuff. There are the few exceptions as with any company.
Cons
The Management is lacking, almost spineless when it comes to speaking up for their employees. You will NEVER get a raise. There is a lack of accountability. Management takes advantage of hard workers.

Excellent educational oppotunities
16 Apr 2014 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Management provides many opportunities to explore various aspects of consulting and allows employees to design their own career path and specialization. Educational benefits are excellent, given you have sufficient time to take advantage of them.
Cons
Salaries have generally remained stagnant and promotions often do not come with additional pay, though the level of responsibility increases.
