Pros

The job is exceptionally flexible, as you can essentially sign up to work at events such as concerts and university basketball games whenever you have the availability in your schedule to work them! This is so as long as you are fulfilling certain hour and event requirements as specified by events managers and institutional policy. It is thus quite ideal for the busy student also attending UT-Austin or Austin State at the same time! The work culture and community was also quite wonderful during my time there. Everybody seemed to be on the same page most of the time, and was gladly willing to help each other out to provide the best customer service we could as ushers! Communication was also quite open between our supervisors and managers and us.

Cons

Events or sports games where an employee can work at is not evenly distributed throughout the year, so some planning/responsibility is required to ensure that all event and monthly hour requirements are being fulfilled. Sometimes, rowdy or otherwise uncooperative patrons made it difficult to smoothly carry out all job duties.
