I worked at Eurasia Group for less than a year

    Pros

Insight in the workings of political risk advisory. Nice to have on your CV - from the outside, EG is well known and has a good reputation

    Cons

varying workload - some days can be very slow overall not a harmonious company culture. People do not socialize, everyone just comes, does their work, and leaves again. High turnover

I have been working at Eurasia Group full-time

    Pros

It's nice to work at the clear market leader for political risk The company continues to challenge itself to reinvent the industry, which is pretty exciting The new GZERO media business and egX mean new opportunities to make politics meaningful, which means new opportunities for staff to learn and try different things

    Cons

Innovation means change, which presents challenges Pace of work and workload can be too much to handle at times

I worked at Eurasia Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good place to begin a career in political risk, but leave before your morale is killed by the miserable management

    Cons

The reputation of Eurasia Group and its founder have been in steady decline for years, and for good reason. The place isn't serious about good analysis anymore. Its essentially a media company, organized for the benefit of the founder's brand name, not the company's clients. People are figuring that out.

    I worked at Eurasia Group

    Pros

My supervisor was really respectful and friendly. Brainstormed a lot in developing how to approach the clients' questions. I learned a lot about the political risk in general.

    Cons

I actually didn't have any cons.

I have been working at Eurasia Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Love working here because the day-to-day is really enjoyable, and the long-term outlook is also positive. I have: - smart colleagues who are really passionate about what they do (love talking strategy, theory, and numbers) and very fun to be around - interesting work that is always changing - if you like roller coasters, this is a good ride - EG is industry leader in political risk and is working wisely to expand into new areas of expertise - flexible work policy (can work out of London and NYC offices) and generous vacation policy leaves you feeling refreshed and motivated - friendly, relaxed, and collaborative office environment without ulterior motives unlike other places in DC

    Cons

    - Research and bd sometimes have different client-related goals and are not on the same page

I have been working at Eurasia Group part-time

    Pros

Co-workers were a group of young, smart people; diverse backgrounds and nationalities; political risk analysis was an inovative tool that Eurasia Group developed accurately. Head of the group is a smart and accesible person

    Cons

Growing fast was a a challenge for the firm; strategic planning and vision in facing new business opportunities, clients, market expansion an opening actual offices in other countries is an area of opportunity

I worked at Eurasia Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The new CEO will help move the company out of the destructive management practices of the past. Eurasia Group is one of the leading political risk consultancy, with a great brand, remarkable thinker and talisman in the President, Ian Bremmer, and some brilliant analysts at all levels.

    Cons

The new CEO needs time to make the changes and insulate the company from some of the stupid management quirks embedded in the companies growth.

"An imperfect, but nonetheless great place to work."

I have been working at Eurasia Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

EG is a great place to work. As someone who has been here for years, and has seen the company have its ups and downs—I also experienced my ups and downs here— the company is on a better, more credible, sustainable path than it’s ever been. The new management team is much improved. Business development has a more targeted, coordinated strategy. Indeed, while some good people have left the firm, the vast majority of recent departures represent a positive development. Unchanged is the research platform’s strength. EG remains the gold standard political risk analysis firm. The most talented, knowledgeable, creative political analysts work at EG or aspire to. Given these dynamics, Eurasia Group may not be a “soaring eagle,” but it is certainly not a “sinking ship.” It’s a smart, innovative company with mostly good people, and a company that is on a strong, positive trajectory.

    Cons

Anonymity’s upside is that it permits people to post reviews unencumbered by fear of retaliation. The downside is that offers an open forum for breathless hyperbole. I wrote this review partly in response to some of the hyperbolic nonsense recently posted. Eurasia Group is not perfect. It never will be. It, like any other company, will remain flawed. Management will make mistakes. Sometimes some employees will be unhappy. A small number of employees will always be unhappy. However, this select always unhappy few would be unhappy people irrespective of their employer.
