I worked at Experiences for Mankind for more than a year

    Pros

Social, fun office environment. Open to new ways of doing things. Appreciative of employees' efforts. Very nice and supportive management. Potential for growth in the company. Nice office and amenities (kitchen, comfy furniture, etc.)

    Cons

Safe, risk-averse work. A lot of focus on research into what has worked in the past (click-rates, etc.) and replicating that, rather than coming up with new ways of doing things. This is understandable in the digital world, but made me realize my job will be completely replaced by robots in 5 years. If you are a designer, you may become frustrated in not being able to contribute conceptually. Often, concepts are decided for you, and you will be asked to carry out someone else's idea without a chance to weigh in. You may have to fight to be heard (which is true of most places, really).

I have been working at Experiences for Mankind full-time

    Pros

EFM has developed a positive culture experience that few agencies in town can replicate. Everyone understands their purpose within the company and where they fit within the day-to-day. This helps so much when collaboration is key in getting work done efficiently – cross-departmental mind share is highlighted so that even media decisions can influence creative strategy and vice versa. But truly, everyone looks out for everyone else to make the work environment we all want to experience. Its positive, non-chaotic, and great work gets done.

    Cons

EFM has had a normal challenge many agencies experience – a flux in business due to lost client accounts (due to client business shifts). This means everyone needs to be on their A-game. Everyone brings to the table their expertise. And sometimes things feel a little unstable or unique challenges pop up as any business would in a similar situation.

I have been working at Experiences for Mankind

    Pros

It used to be creative focused and culturally driven. Management used to care.

    Cons

Finance troubles, loss of major accounts and outsourcing. Fired most of the top staff recently. Closing its doors soon.
