Pros
Good pay and benefits - sometimes better than some of the tech companies. But not sure how long it’ll last Ability to rotate to different positions so you’re always learning. You don’t get that in other companies Get to work with some intelligent and interesting people
Cons
If you’re not a UT Austin or Texas A&M grad, you shouldn’t be there. If you’re not a stodgy old white dude, you shouldn’t be there The performance review process is the old GE forced ranking process. Although they claimed to get rid of it in 2020, the current system just goes by a different moniker but really same thing. Middle management doesn’t know how to stand up to high level managers. So the the top management is essentially divorced from the reality that is ExxonMobil.

Pros
Good pay and benefits Corporation is stable
Cons
Low capability / interest to trust / promote technical experts Co-workers compete against each other instead of work with each other Terrible technical career path... Consistently told my managers that the only way to lead and to progress is to be in management Culture of hazing and distrust Work is not rewarding in and of itself Just because the corporation is stable does not mean your job is. Expect to re-apply to work at the corporation annually No checks and balances for management. They can do whatever they want (good or bad)

ExxonMobil Is not the company it use to be

Good pay and benefits. Nice campus.
Cons
Culture is backstabbing and to undermine co-workers to make their self look better. Young managers lack experience with managing people leading to a very unhappy workforce. Company is no longer loyal to the employees

Pros
Pay and benefits were awesome.
Cons
Forced ranking system was no more than mean boys and bad gurls club. How well you do depends on who like you, or not.

Pros
Great pay and benefits. 401k and pension.
Cons
Field employees are disposable. When the company sells an asset, field employees are generally sold as well with no other options.
