I have been working at FRHI Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

Great brands, lovely colleagues, good career growth opportunities. The hotels are great and the corporate culture is supportive. The benefits are competitive in the market.

    Cons

Uncertain future of the brands since purchase by AccorHotels. The corporate office has had significant turnover and it is not clear who is still in place.

    Advice to Management

Be careful about protecting the company culture through the integration

I have been working at FRHI Hotels & Resorts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I just spend 2 years in Fairmont Heliopolis Cairo, I love the team my manager is very passionate. . Encouraging us. .

    Cons

The salary is not good, also the medical insurance is limited.

    Advice to Management

There should be medical insurance, some development for the stuff. Also there should be standard salary for all the Fairmont's all over the world.

I worked at FRHI Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

Great team for the most part. People tended not to take themselves too seriously. Great benefits on the travel side as well!

    Cons

Call center environment. Sitting in a cubicle with a headset on all day is not super invigorating.

I have been working at FRHI Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

Amazing community of people, healthy environment, continual training, benefits, 401k, cafeteria, opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

No advancement or growth for massage therapists.

    Advice to Management

Many departments have recruited employees from outside of the fairmont family. In many cases, I have seen qualified individuals within the company not get promoted, when they deserved it, which is unfortunate. Recruit within.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at FRHI Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

Employee perks including discounted dining at F&B outlets, free daily lunch and laundry. Colleagues are generally helpful and nice to one another, showing the embodiment of hospitality.

    Cons

The recent acquisition by ACCOR coupled with increasing competition from new hotels in the area has brought about widespread budget cuts in the company which have seriously affected the function of most departments. It is now harder than ever to get a pay raise or promotion, which has led to many deserving employees stuck in dead-end positions. Hotel is also outdated and worn, you may not want to stay in the rooms... you are selling. No employee discount in some of the popular restaurants, and no discounted pricing for staying at local properties except for certain low peak periods. Very hierarchical like most local companies, with management delegating most of the work and throwing ideas without actually assisting in the burden. In other words, all talk no action. Low salary compared to other industries but decent for hotels. Flexi-benefits are pathetic with no dental coverage. Employee morale is at a new low with most hoping to move to greener pastures.

    Advice to Management

Be less hierarchical, give subordinates more autonomy in their projects without putting your nose into everything. Increase genuineness of employee welfare programs, not those implemented just to make yourself look good.

I have been working at FRHI Hotels & Resorts full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

One of the best hotels management companies to work for. Pro employees where all employees are given opportunities and freedom to excel in their job.

    Cons

Some very rigid policies an practices in place in some of the departments which are not in sync with the current times. They need to loosen up a bit.

    Advice to Management

Overall a great company... they however need to address the issues of rigid practices followed in some, not all departments. Overall a great company.
