    Pros

    Great corporate culture with interesting and empowering work.

    Cons

    Uncertain what the future holds post aquistion by Accor Hotels. Toronto office no longer a Corporate Head Office.

    Advice to Management

    Try to maintain the core of what made the old FRHI great, if possible.

    Pros

    Pre- Accor Hotels acquisition in 2016, FRHI had been a company with great management vision, good people creating excellent work environment, high values and achieving targeted goals.

    Cons

    Post Accor Hotels acquisition: very poor management of the acquiring Company, lots of politics and incompetent team on the Corporate management level.

    Pros

    Employee perks including discounted dining at F&B outlets, free daily lunch and laundry. Colleagues are generally helpful and nice to one another, showing the embodiment of hospitality.

    Cons

    The recent acquisition by ACCOR coupled with increasing competition from new hotels in the area has brought about widespread budget cuts in the company which have seriously affected the function of most departments. It is now harder than ever to get a pay raise or promotion, which has led to many deserving employees stuck in dead-end positions. Hotel is also outdated and worn,...

    Advice to Management

    Be less hierarchical, give subordinates more autonomy in their projects without putting your nose into everything. Increase genuineness of employee welfare programs, not those implemented just to make yourself look good.
