      Pros

Really fun office. Good people. Incredibly good benefits (free lunch/coffee/drinks paid for) and generally interesting work.

      Cons

Work can get monotonous, career progression is limited, a lot of people wanting to move into either buy or sell side get stuck waiting.

Decent Brand, but not for experienced recruits

      Pros

Free Lunch, Good location, Free Fruit and Snacks

      Cons

If you are not recruited by FactSet as a graduate or young, there will never be any path to integrate you into the business. A stagnant product and work environment might as well be a snake pit for most people if you are not a recruit from the university.

      Pros

Successful company Free lunch prior to Covid Solid business model

      Cons

The culture is toxic! The Finance team once use to be a hidden jewel, the envy of other companies and the place to be. From Senior management down to entry level it was rare to hear complaints. It was fantastic with even better people. What happened? Change of management.!! And the Finance department deteriorated quickly. Look at the turnover! No way to spin it. The very best have left! The camaraderie and the collaboration vanished. There are no solid relationships anymore and no support. You are on your own. And to make matters worse it’s become full corporate with plenty of pressure but without those corporate salaries and bonuses. The work will never end. It’s a shame.

      Great Company to Begin Career

      Pros

Free lunch, correspondence with C level suite at clients, overall willingness for people to help. FactSet is a great place to begin your career - from both a Consulting and Sales side of things, Regular correspondence with C level clients will begin early, allowing you to build up your sales and consulting skills (transferrable). Free lunch is pretty awesome too. Generally, the people you work with are smart, driven, and like to have fun. Some of my better friends were from FactSet. The managers I had were superb. Overall, a great experience.

      Cons

Having moved into another SaaS company, I have seen some light in regards to problems FactSet had. First and foremost - the pay. I know it's always easy to complain about pay, but FactSet's pay is well under what you could make elsewhere. In sales, specifically, there is zero commission. No commission and no real ties to performance (outside of a lofty 6 month review), does not incentivize the sales organization correctly. This will continue to drive people out if they don't fix this. Autonomy regarding freedom to work from home is also not really there either - which is just not standard anymore (for anyone that is in sales, especially, past 5 years experience). Lastly, internal politics. Luckily, I found myself on the right side of this line in my career at FactSet, however, I saw several people treated a tad unfairly (in their career progression and performance reviews) due to their lack of being in the optimal standing with the popular and influential group of people. All this being said, FactSet is full of wonderful people. It really is a great way to kick off your career and get some great, transferable experience.
