I have been working at FinancialForce full-time

    Pros

Workspace: a took a while but we now have a great workspace, actually designed to help us collaborate a be productive. People: nothing novel, I guess, but this is my review... I work with some wonderful people, many of whom I consider good friends. In general I feel the rapport and support for each other is pretty good. Senior management: they are listening to feedback and, to varying degrees, actioning and improving things based on our feedback. Benefits: for the UK, I think the benefits a great. Flexibility of working hours and opportunity to work from home help manage the work-life balance. Other benefits that I really appreciate provide cover for health and financial stability.

    Cons

Salesforce: it can be restrictive, prescriptive and generally frustrating to work on. Although, I do recognise the benefits and it is improving. Communication: disjointed and lacking at times, plus the Career progression: we're getting there but has been a painful journey to get to the point of structure and visibility. Line managers: simply changing a person's title does not make them a good line manager!

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Smart, hard working people, leadership team has coalesced nicely, deadwood doesn't last long here (thankfully). Good products, employee benefits, snacks and company social events. Onward and upward.

    Cons

Can't think of anything out of the ordinary.

    I worked at FinancialForce full-time

    Pros

    - Remote working culture with flexibility and focus on getting the job done. - Good benefits - Volunteer time off each year for charity - Good Engineering talent

    Cons

    - Constant org structure and leadership changes. Constantly in last year, either execs resigned or let go in last year, and with new leaders, there is a sweep of people and role changes. - Volatility in Sales number quarter over quarter. - Lack of visibility on who gets promoted and career guidance framework.

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing FAST and FUN culture... Being an ISV of Salesforce is such a HUGE benefit to have and be a part of a fast boat !! I feel like I can write my own story and either stay on my current team or do something else and be successful there too.. and stay here at Financial Force... which is rare...

    Cons

The cons... some will say it does move too fast.. and that you can't slow down... but I love it. There is really no "playbook" here, you have to be a self starter, this is not a place for a wallflower or "wait and see" kind of person.. but not really a con either.

I worked at FinancialForce full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There’s still a very strong market opportunity, if the product and culture become the focus again.

    Cons

This used to be a vibrant workplace with a strong sense of purpose. Growth was strong and steady for a long time. It was a place where people enjoyed working together, were passionate about the mission, and stayed a long time. Sadly, the past 1-2 years, goals were set too aggressively, those targets started getting missed, and it turned into a cutthroat blame culture. Much money has been squandered on fancy external hires instead of core product development and people development. The amazing people who built this into a $100m company have largely been pushed out or left, and there’s now a revolving door of people who seem to be joining in hopes of a quick flip on their stock options.

    Cons

Sometimes you have to work to fit in with the US hours, but the company recognises that fact and gives flexibility If you work remotely you dont get to enjoy the free snacks (probably good for the waistline)

I worked at FinancialForce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some of the people The HR department tries very hard to mask the miserable outlook my refurbishing the office every 5 mins Jeremy Roche was fantastic Trips abroad

    Cons

FinancialForce has stagnated too long developing useless features that no prospect cared about and in that time competitors have stolen market share from them. They are in no way a market leader in PSA. Their Financial application is solid and capable but costs THE EARTH and you can easily replicate the functionality with smaller offerings 50% of the Professional Services team are incredibly lazy and unwilling to help any other department Management restructures change like the wind. Senior execs are lured in with false promise and then BAM... the grass is NOT greener and they rapidly depart. Bullying is everywhere on all levels. It exists most obviously in the on-boarding and support team. Marketing department is about as much use a blind guide dog. I honestly don't understand what they do. Sales team sells completely undeliverable projects and promises features that simply don't exist.

    FinancialForce Response

    November 30, 2018

As one of the founders of FinancialForce I wanted to personally respond to this, as I am in the very fortunate position of having worked at a senior level with both Jeremy and now Tod. Both of whom are visionary leaders who have, during their stewardship of the business, taken us through periods of incredible growth and change. As we communicated at the time, Jeremy’s decision to leave was his recognition of the need to take the business to the next level with a Silicon Valley based CEO, and securing a CEO of Tod’s calibre was a huge endorsement for the business, which Jeremy fully supported. I am sorry to read your concerns and that you didn’t feel able to raise these whilst you were working with us through one of the many channels available. As this would have enabled us to investigate and resolve matters quickly. We take any accusation of bullying extremely seriously and would always encourage our employees to raise any concerns about bullying or unfair treatment with the ES or Legal team immediately. We have a robust process for reporting allegations of bullying or harassment via various mediums, including an anonymous feedback tool. As a group of professionals, with a strong team ethos, we are committed to supporting FinancialForce in its progression and growth. We are committed to support a culture of inclusion and respect for everyone.
