I worked at FinancialForce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some of the people The HR department tries very hard to mask the miserable outlook my refurbishing the office every 5 mins Jeremy Roche was fantastic Trips abroad

    Cons

FinancialForce has stagnated too long developing useless features that no prospect cared about and in that time competitors have stolen market share from them. They are in no way a market leader in PSA. Their Financial application is solid and capable but costs THE EARTH and you can easily replicate the functionality with smaller offerings 50% of the Professional Services...

    FinancialForce Response

    November 30, 2018

As one of the founders of FinancialForce I wanted to personally respond to this, as I am in the very fortunate position of having worked at a senior level with both Jeremy and now Tod. Both of whom are visionary leaders who have, during their stewardship of the business, taken us ...

I have been working at FinancialForce part-time

    Pros

The size and scale of the company means that for certain areas of the business things can move fast and if you understand where you want your career to go that includes your development too (if the right opportunities come up). I cannot recommend working in my office enough (Harrogate), if you want an opportunity to start your career in Cloud software but development isnt for you then the onboarding and support analyst...

Nothing specific. Each team/ role is different so you are going to get a different experience in each but i certainly would not have any hesitations in pointing people to the website and suggesting they take a look at our vacancies.

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I wanted to update my previous positive review to another positive review now that the honeymoon phase is over and being with FinancialForce over a year. Growing Pains, but the current Leadership Team is impressive and keeps me believing in what we are as a company working towards. Patches are in abundance, Quarterly Bonus a huge plus, protected accounts. There is an opportunity to make $$ with a great work life balance.

    Cons

Need more internal career pathing/development. All outside hires.

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for less than a year

    Pros

FinancialForce offers best in class solutions and amazing work / life balance. Being a part of the Salesforce ecosystem, with a well known brand, prospects are very open and keen on taking meetings and having conversations. The pay is great, significantly above market average for similar type roles in Chicago. Variable compensation is very real, unlike other sales roles at companies that sell you on OTE and don't deliver....

    Cons

There is some misalignment between marketing, sales operations, and the business development organization. There are too many restrictions on accessing certain reports and functionalities within CRM. Typical growing pains of a startup moving into a more mature phase.

    Advice to Management

Don't overdue the transition to a mid-market business by putting in too many burdensome policy's and procedures within sales operations. The only way to ensure data integrity is to hold every employee accountable for their actions. That means opening up CRM privileges, rather than restricting.

    I worked at FinancialForce

    Pros

You have the opportunity to work with some really smart and driven people but that number has dwindled rapidly due to attrition. Benefits were good, they pay towards gym membership and commuting.

    Cons

Where to begin? FinancialForce at one point was an awesome place to work, amazing culture, fun work, fun people, just overall a great environment to be in but things have gone downhill over the last year and a half. Products have lagged behind competition and the attrition rate is higher than any company I've ever worked. It was highly discouraging to see top performers leaving...

    Advice to Management

Please do a better job of listening to your employees and INVEST IN THEM. Reward good employees. Pay folks what they're worth. You shouldn't have to leave for another company just to receive a better salary. Put more investments into your products. They're falling behind the competition. And finally, do whatever is needed to stop all the attrition. You'll keep losing great employees if things don't change.

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

In FinancialForce you will find nice and hard worker people. They take care of employees, provide free fruit and snacks, private health insurance and pension plan. Keep employees happy is a must for them.

    Cons

The Company is growing and the structure changes every 6 - 12 months, with the consequent changes in the processes. Lot of the work isn't planned and last minute decisions makes the quality decrease considerably. Also is usual work in a project and after being dedicated months working on it, then management decides stop the development. This is highly frustrating. Salary is ok, but is hard advance in your professional...

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very progressive and growing company. As the saying goes, "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to." No company is perfect; however, I find a difference at FinancialForce. It's like a family, they care about and look after their employees. You will have a career path here. This review may sound like it is a point of view through rose colored glasses. Work hard and...

    Cons

Every tech company has attrition. They are getting much better at making sure employees have a good work-life balance. Lots of turn over both at the management and department level. It's a rapidly growing company, so it is expected. However, it would be nice to see the company retain more employees. We lose too many good people.

    Advice to Management

Work more on retaining employees. We lose too many good people. Listen more to employee suggestions.

I worked at FinancialForce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Board Of Directors is forward thinking enough to "try" to change the fate of FinancialForce by changing out the top execs (my guess is that they are not done) Former execs were good guys, built a passionate culture and a solid vision Good success in small and medium size businesses (less than 1000-1500 employees) Have done a couple of 'large' deals in the enterprise

    Cons

Tiny addressable market limited to the SFDC customer base (particularly in the enterprise) Enterprise momentum is almost non-existent outside of a couple of large customers Operational inefficiency is crushing and effects revenue, overall employee production, momentum, morale, sales deals, etc. Products (w/ exception of PSA) are raw, disconnected and have a LONG way to go to be considered a true ERP Large deals...

    Advice to Management

Identify with what the true upside for a company like FinancialForce really is and focus on the market that you can truly impact...small businesses. Continuing to pour money into the enterprise is a losing proposition, particularly when you have to compete for dollars with SFDC (not to mention the real ERP vendors and other competitors). Race to a scenario in which your products are natively integrated. Not having...

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

FinancialForce has the best overall corporate environment! The participation and collaboration all the way from the CEO down to the individual contributors is awesome. Overall everyone has a positive attitude about the company, their roles, and their compensation. The executive team has been careful not to overgrow the company by headcount, and they have been very successful in hiring the right personalities for the...

    Cons

It is a rapid growth company, and with that always comes some growing pains. Decisions on executive team changes can be challenging when the outgoing executives have been so well liked. It is the nature of company growth to shift executive alignment, so be aware of this element of the company if you are not comfortable with those types of changes.

    Advice to Management

Keep the lines of communications open and transparent. The executive changes have already yielded results that are helping the company in getting to the next stage - keeping everyone informed and engaged will continue to be a key component of employee success, satisfaction, and retention.
