I have been working at FinancialForce full-time

    Pros

Workspace: a took a while but we now have a great workspace, actually designed to help us collaborate a be productive. People: nothing novel, I guess, but this is my review... I work with some wonderful people, many of whom I consider good friends. In general I feel the rapport and support for each other is pretty good. Senior management: they are listening to feedback and, to varying degrees, actioning and improving...

    Cons

Salesforce: it can be restrictive, prescriptive and generally frustrating to work on. Although, I do recognise the benefits and it is improving. Communication: disjointed and lacking at times, plus the Career progression: we're getting there but has been a painful journey to get to the point of structure and visibility. Line managers: simply changing a person's title...

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great culture that allows you, as a sales professional, to go and do as you need in order to generate business. The SE's are an awesome group that works really really hard to help you win a deal. Comp plan is very very competitive vs the rest of the market.

    Cons

Way too many leadership changes. New leadership comes in with their vision and usually their "crew" from previous companies - yet their 'all in' strategies do not end up working, which leaves them without a job and AE's like myself - very frustrated. Of our 2 product lines, 1 is far weaker than the competition and it's not hard for prospects to see this, and the 2nd which used to be the best solution on the market has...

    Advice to Management

We have 2 products, let's make them better than anything else in the market. Let's also help the AE's with leads to chase. Each AE should have 3-5 opps going at any time, while most have 1 (if any). This is going to drive out good salespeople and leave FF in a worse position.

As with many companies, leadership changes are required at times in order to move the business to the next level. As a company, we have taken an intentional and thoughtful approach to building out a strong executive team, and our new sales leadership is here now for just a few weeks. ...

    Pros

Fantastic people to work with. The platform offers lots of technical challenges. Great benefits.

    Cons

The platform offers very little flexibility and potential to innovate and the direction of the innovations teams seems very lackluster and as such concerning. Advancement seems very bias towards people who sacrifice their own time to learning the platform opposed to people who are genuinely skilled developers. Pay is very very poor for the technical area (Salesforce developer...

Career progression based on skill opposed to knowledge of the platform. Genuine innovation. More competitive pay.

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Shaping a start up into a proper big brand, sales and marketing machine is a tremendous opportunity. We get to adopt the best practices of both the startup and big company world's. New leadership is passionate and strategically focused on driving impact. As an aside, they are constantly looking at culture and better transparency. Everything from regular all-hands meetings to office design to off-sites is being looked...

    Cons

All new leadership always comes with benefits and minuses, meaning, not everyone is up to speed how these big company players from Microsoft and Salesforce are looking to operate operating. So there can be an adoption curve pain as the company is developing a new message, processes and market focus. These are always extremely challenging to go through but they are ultimately...

    Advice to Management

Keep communications going,, more and more, and bring everyone along as much as possible. Management and supporting teams need to give the changes a chance take hold .New systems, processes and vision takes time to shape and implement. ^ months from now this company will have the new system running. But in the meantime, we need to give people a chance to get up to speed and implement and not leave everyone that's no familiar...

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Salesforce Platform, Some people care

    Cons

As other reviews state, over the last year 90% of the leadership team has been replaced. While change is inevitable as an organization grows, treating non-Sales employees like they don't exist cannot be the norm. Our President and Sales leadership like to tout the most minor sales accomplishment on our company wide chatter, but when someone from another department deserves recognition, it is only shared with their own...

    Advice to Management

First of all, please finally announce a compensation policy. Then realize that a company that makes back office software should treat their back office employees fairly (oh, the irony). Realize they we are not as big as we think we are, and invest in our Products. There is so much potential here, and it isn't too late to get back on the right track. I've personally expressed all this before to my Employee Success Partner...

    Pros

Great people, good pension, good perks - vending machine, flexible working etc. Fantastic concept and company full of ambition as they strive to reach IPO. Job security.

    Cons

Huge growing pains, products that might as well be written on completely different platforms for the amount they can communicate with each other. More and more tiers being introduced of middle management whose job it is to crack the whip with no concept of the team on the grounds workload and no interest in supporting them through their challenges. Services team incapable of executing, always full of excuses and happy...

    Advice to Management

Weed out the Managers that add no value, fix your products which are stuck together with sticky-back plastic. Look long and hard at your Services team. Great concept, execution abysmal. The concept will only take you so far, time to start delivering for your customers.

I have been working at FinancialForce full-time

    Pros

    - not micromanaged - solid perks and benefits - realistic leadership vision is still a challenge we can rise to - positioned to win in major markets - you won't get here "too late" to make an impact

    Cons

Growing pains are a given when you're building a rocketship. From what I've seen, a lot of the former fires are being put out, not with bandaids but with culture changing fixes. Keep this up! - as a lot of the salesforce is remote, encourage collaboration to keep us close.

    Advice to Management

Continue to empower managers to coach and run alongside their reps to win deals. Tool the salesforce with resources to effectively nurture relationships post-sale. A little reassurance goes a long way

Tightly connected with Salesforce, so you can piggyback on the name. Strong growth, heading toward IPO.

    Cons

Salesforce may not want to work with you, and you are in a hard way... Need more focus on customer retention. We tout that we're strong here, but I haven't seen a total commitment to the customer in some regards.
