I worked at FleishmanHillard full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

FleishmanHillard is a fantastic company. The hours are long and the work is hard - the expectations are also high - but the company and management are wonderful. Your duties and job requirements are clear and management is transparent in your career path. Junior staff members are treated exceptionally well and there are learning opportunities every day. You will also experience a great mix of media relations, social media strategy, crisis communications, and more. FleishmanHillard is a fantastic company and great place to work.

    Cons

While there are offices throughout the world, it would be nice if the offices worked closer and employees were given opportunities to move to other offices. Promotions are also only done once per year which can be odd as most people are promoted annually with only a few missing out.

    Advice to Management

Continue to treat junior employees fairly and encourage a learning environment. Consider switching promotion structure to not once a year.

I worked at FleishmanHillard full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have been in the PR industry and Fleishman Hillard earns a good name and is well appreciated. I got lot of opportunities to work with good brands and learn a lot.

    Cons

There is absolutely no professionalism, when I saw the way my colleagues from Bangalore office work, I realized despite being a small team the place was a breeding ground for constant nagging. All the work is handled by juniors and the management, used to pass passive aggressive remarks at workplace. Despite taking the serious matter to HR, no actions were taken. In fact I was bullied and I decided to move on from this place because they way a company treats its employees, decided the future of the company. The two people I worked with were pathetic, lacked professionalism and a disgrace to the company.

    Advice to Management

Please take a note of suggestions, and don't things lightly. If an intern/ SAE is bullied, its your job to take strict action and not protect the culprits and try to brush off the incident. Because a company like Fleishman Hillard can lose its reputation because of such people.

I have been working at FleishmanHillard full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Junior to mid-level staff keep this agency running, cranking out quality work and collaborating well in my experience. In general, my colleagues have been lovely to work with.

    Cons

Management is very two-faced and it’s led to a morale issue. My office in DC just laid off a handful of folks after insisting the finances were “improving” this quarter. The divide between management and staff is worsening, especially with moves like this.

    Advice to Management

Don’t promise transparency if you can’t deliver. I have one foot out the door and I’m not alone.

I have been working at FleishmanHillard full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Endless career possibilities for sharp, positive, business-minded, communications gurus. Those who bring a champion attitude and are dedicated to being better professionals are rewarded and recognized throughout the organization at all skill levels.

    Cons

You have to work hard, you have to really think things through before you DO them and come at any situation with an educated perspective. FH can be demanding because clients expect premium work...it's not an environment for someone who isn't interested in hard work but you get back what you put in.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more openly with all levels of the organization. This has improved with changes in leadership, but anyone who isn't a senior staff member is often left out of conversations about what's going on in the business even though they contribute greatly to the outcomes. There should be a way to distribute the message in a way that's appropriate for all levels of the organization.
