Hard work, long hours, good benefits but not sure where they're headed

      Pros

-Benefits very good - compensation is I believe above average for marketing, 401K matching, reimbursement for some fitness/wellness expenses, 50% matching donations, good cafeteria (no longer subsidized, but good options), opportunity to travel -Many opportunities for advancement or to pivot to a different role because the company is very large and has many different branches -An overall feeling that the products we make do have a positive impact on people's lives -Flexible work hours, and ability to work from home or remotely on occasion -Learning and training opportunities both local and in other parts of the country

      Cons

-Long hours expected, it's definitely not a 9-5 -Do more with less mentality -budgets constantly cut, when the quarter doesn't go well, the first thing to go is marketing funding; marketing is significantly underfunded compared to competition -Very slow to adopt new technologies or methods -Heavily regulated, everything has to go through multiple layers of approvals -USA business currently making a change requiring everyone to move to Chicago and be in the office 4 days/week, gutting a big portion of those who have worked here for a long time and can't make that move, so there will be a lot of new faces with minimal experience soon; decisions being made that affect a large number of people by leadership who feel very out of touch, or have ulterior motives/agenda -Very risk averse- hard to get new ideas implemented because of the fear of what could maybe potentially happen in 1 scenario out of 1000s
