    Good learning, tough environment

    Pros

For anybody who wants to build their career in international corporate environment, GE is definitely the place to be. Different business can have very different environment, but generally people are professional, competitive and friendly to help. Great place for communications if you end up in a business that has deep pockets; compared to other industrial peers, GE's storytelling is quite impressive.

    Cons

Power business is in deep decline and therefore the overall moral is very down.

    Much ado about...

    Pros

This company is transitioning from high formalism with extreme pressure towards more empowerment, while extreme pressure remains a constant. The environment is rather unstable but fosters entrepreneurial spirit. Millenials could in theory find a nurturing environment at GE, if they learn to navigate the huge organization and stick to the corporate verbatim. Work/life flexibility will totally depend on which business you join and who is your boss and your personal appetites.

    Cons

The environment is rather unstable and difficult to read given the company's sheer size. One is supposed to believe and trust that meritocracy is indeed the rule... My own experience is that the company does not encourage international mobility and that fair treatment of women is not a priority. I was paid 15% less than my former male colleagues and my replacement male colleague is paid at least 15% more than I was (with less professional experience).
