Pros
GE is a large company, and along with that comes a certain amount of security. There are a lot of opportunitiesa lot of opportunitiesa lot of opportunities to go just about anywhere in the world and work in a whole variety of jobs. Really flexible work environment and relatively good benefits.
Cons
Much of the innovation in a large company comes from acquisitions of one type or another. Therefore, much of the work is managerial or regulatory, rather than detailed design work. There are not a lot of opportunities to change the way things work because they are dictated from other parts of the organization. If you want to be a manager, this can be an ideal environment, and GE prides itself in this. If you want to be a technical designer, it is more difficult.

Pros
Fantastic enthusiastic world place where you can learn a lot if you're self motivated and there are a lot of opportunity over the world
Cons
Sometimes seems a really dispersive environment... look like the best place but there are problem of comunication between department , from where you can have a sense of alienation

Pros
Lots to learn and there is never a moment where I would say it is boring and plenty of advancement opportunities
Cons
A lot of politics within the company that leads to bottle necks at every turn.

Pros
Large company means lots of opportunity to move to a different group if you have to move to another city.
Cons
There was a major sense of everyone stepping on each other to get ahead. I never felt like the company or any of the people actually cared about any of the employees. You were just a number. This is probably normal for such a large company. With this many locations and industries under one name, you will also probably find very different reviews from different people.

Pros
GE is a great company for people, who want to challenge themselves and grow professionally. The level of employees there is very high: smart, professional and hard working. The company is so large that there a lot of career opportunities in several different industries.
Cons
GE is known for being very numbers focused and it's true. Seems like everything is measured and without solid financial support, it's hard to get a project improved...which means that they struggle with taking risks. They also have the forced employee ranking system, where only 10 top employees can get excellent rating and nice salary increases...which leaves many great employees discouraged.

Pros
Great co-workers - smart, hard working, passionate about what they do Continued education encouraged... tuition reimbursement up to a cap, numerous non-degree classes offered internally on job related skills Career advancement - lots of opportunities to try new roles and people tend to move jobs every few years
Cons
Long hours - my observation is that most salaried people work more than 40 hours a week

Pros
Lot of opportunities to learn about a world class process and systems which are implemented way ahead of the competition.
Cons
Basically you are just a number and nobody cares about you or your career. Constant management changes makes it hard on the employees morale.

Pros
There are lots of opportunities to be promoted and you learn a lot of valuable skills while working on the manufacturing floor.
Cons
Most positions in manufacturing require a lot more hours than the 40 hours that your salary compensates you for and only Operations Leaders receive overtime pay, because there OT is mandatory. Great place to start at, if all you want to do is work a bunch and save money before family life begins.

Pros
Lots of opportunities to learn and to get involved with a variety of different groups and specialties.
Cons
It is a political environment and knowing how to work within that type of culture will help you in the long term
