      Good people, poor management

      Pros

Dedicated teachers and staff on-site in Chicago work their butts off to deliver a high-quality education and school experience to students. Parents are involved and feel like part of the family. Beautiful campus and neighborhood location. Fun events like open houses, speakers/authors, and social nights to grow the community.

      Cons

Chicago should be left to independently operate. Whenever NY corporate office gets involved, it all goes to hell. They are completely disconnected from the actual work and challenges on-site. Seem to care more about shiny conferences, travel opportunities, and fat salaries than rolling up sleeves and doing what needs to be done. CEO is unprofessional and has said demeaning and cruel things to staff, causing high turnover. Because it's such a labor of love, people work long hours, and yes it's all for the kids, but leads to little work-life balance.

It depends a lot which school you work at

      Pros

Some of the schools have a great working culture , some of the schools don't. The experience can be on the both sides of the spectrum.

      Cons

      - high turnover - no career & professional development opportunities for non-teaching staff - the head office adds a lot of unnecessary pressure to both teaching and non-teaching staff of the schools

      No direction and strategy/ DISORGANISED

      Pros

      Good working hours/ flexible working

      Cons

Senior Leadership team and European CEO have no idea how to deliver a long term strategy. Decisions are made hastily and there is a high turnover of staff as a result. HR do not always look out on the best interest of staff. There is a lot of redundancy and workers are not given a fair time to make a difference. Massive blame culture
