I have been working at Genomic Health full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

GHI makes every decision with the patient in mind. The company is hyper focused on changing the way cancer is treated. At GHI, everyone has a voice and is given the opportunity to leverage their strengths to get results.

    Cons

The company is growing fast and at times faces challenges with matching the infrastructure to the growth.

I have been working at Genomic Health full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Oncotype assays are well researched and robust and help patients. Wonderful medical, clinical, development, stats and BD leads. Other GlassDoor comments about 'half-baked' are uninformed - these are well researched and robust; training is strong, but these are complicated and advanced products so it is challenging to learn. Company takes products seriously. Great to work on products that help cancer patients.

    Cons

Executives not aligned on strategy. Generally good debates; some employees can't handle seeing this, but it's not a bad thing to see the challenges the executives face on strategic matters. Time for new leaders. Too much 'tribalism'. Not enough innovation outside business/product development and lab. Too hard to get decisions made. Commercial leadership above VP level not international enough and not really connected. ... starting to change on international but not fast enough or agile enough. Not really an oncology company yet; still only focused tactically on breast. NGS promising and robust, but pipeline taking too long. Seems to be too many employees who, if they get sick, do not seem to be well supported and often leave.

    Pros

A good working atmosphere overall. The company takes care of the employee allowing to make a difference in peoples´s lives everyday.

    Cons

Some decisions taken by the U.S not considering the impact they may have in the organization abroad. This could be mitigated by better/more communication with the International entities.

I have been working at Genomic Health full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent science and infrastructure to support initial product in BCa. Some very talented people throughout the organization make personal interactions enjoyable.

    Cons

Poor leadership in the commercial team primarily on the breast team and at senior levels. Territorial and political at this point, original culture of collaboration and what's best for the organization has disappeared.

I have been working at Genomic Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great product in the hot personalized medicine arena. Cutting edge technologies with good innovations. Talent people with lots of creative ideas day-to-day to keep you away from being bored.

    Cons

High performing culture. Workload is very high, usually will need 50-60 hours per week. No overtime pay and the award opportunity is very limited. Too much POLITICS especially with lots of new hires coming from big Pharma. Several senior management working here 10+ years just left recently. Turnover rate is very high due to all these reasons. The company has hard time finding good candidates to fill the vacancies. Would not recommend this company to friend.
