    Pros

    Flexible schedule. Good immediate management

    Cons

First off this review is almost irrelevant as the speciality sales division of GPN is going to be obsolete very soon. They already let go about 30% of the outside sales team and if the people working in that division think they are safe they are being foolish. - When I left Glanbia and my new employer called for verification that I was in sales Glanbia told my new employer I was only an “associate”...a term I never heard used to describe my role nor was in the hand book. VERY UNDERHANDED and they lost all my respect for GPN after that. - leadership is clueless. They throw a bunch of new products at you at once with no direction on how to sell them and then they discontinued them without notice. - zero communication. Getting an email back from someone was close to winning the lotto. Then they would ask you a question that you already answered in the body of your first email. And this didn’t happen once or twice, it was constant. - they would discontinue items without telling the sales people. You’d have to find out from distribution. - Wasted ton of money on promotional item we didn’t ask for or need. And not only that they sent waaayyyy too much of it. If there was some communication instead of inferring what we need GPN wouldn’t have spent so much on promotional items stores didn’ want or use. - Slow to market. They talked about sending us branded barrel coolers for a new drink we launched. By the time they sent them to the reps the drink was discontinued. Genius. - No sales training or development. This is where your career goes to die. They won’t advance you and won’t give you the training to advance. If you want collect a paycheck then Glanbia is for you. If you want to advance yourself and your career look elsewhere. - Upper management started only hiring people form their old company coca-cola. - When I applied for other jobs within the organization I was told by HR “we are only entertaining external hires right now”

    Pros

Glanbia is a great company for individuals looking to get experience in the Sports Nutrition Industry. Departments like Quality, R&D, Sales and Marketing keep the company thriving.

    Cons

Over the past 5 years upper management have been cut throat in departments such as Supply chain and Procurement. As someone pointed out, they want to operate like they are a world class organization. But they allowed all of the good staff get away. Particularly in Supply chain and Procurement. They should really investigate the integrity of the leadership that has been in key positions in the last 5 years. They don't care about people working for them. Only themselves. Also, this may be do to racism where minorities have been treated poorly. Management have even been known to curse you out simply because they can and they know you need a job. Unfair pay to minorities not just African Americans. So if you must take a position at this company's corporate office in Downers Grove. Keep a backup plan and only take the job for the experience and get out!

I worked at Glanbia Performance Nutrition full-time

    Pros

Great experience for learning to work in a cGMP environment. Analytical skills are greatly improved. Working with derivitized amino acid hones general lab skills.

    Cons

Salaries tend to be on the low end. Home office is in Ireland, which causes extreme delays for required upper management approvals.

I worked at Glanbia Performance Nutrition

    Pros

ABB drink selling contests which will get you a $250 gift card which is more than you'll make in your quarterly bonus. $25 gift card for your Christmas gift ( thanking you for all your hard work! Ha! What a joke!)

    Cons

Micro managed to death, every email is urgent and you need to respond immediately no matter what or you're questioned as to why you didn't. Upper management comes from outside the industry and has a "my way or the highway" attitude. Bonus structure changes constantly and the higher ups make it more unattainable each time. Paid on what distribution and direct sales generates but you're never told what the numbers are, only that "we fell short this quarter so no bonus" The sales directors just drink the company kook aid and are afraid to stand up to upper management and voice their concerns, they are all just company "yes men" This corporate monster is ego driven by management that is from the CPG marketplace and has no clue how this industry works, that's why every product launch is a failure but they will always blame it on the sales rep because that saves them from having egg on their faces. This industry is NOT Coca Cola, Pepsi, Pepperidge Farm or Frito Lay and you cannot run the company as such, it'll never work. If you'd listen to employees that know what's up, you might have a product that does well. Oh and stay out of Costco and Amazon or don't expect your LOYAL retailers to remain loyal. Future applicants do NOT walk, RUN from this company!
