No Opinion of CEOI worked at Government of India, Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organisation full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Get to work with a wide variety of systems (aerospace and avionics systems) . Lot of communications among cross-functional teams. These help engineers get a better perspective about the system (spacecrafts) and result in steep learning curves. My bosses were down-to-earth.
Cons
Salary is low and no significant hikes till 4/5 years. (or till Central pay commission is announced) Bosses expect engineers to pitch in lot of efforts. Work-life balance is NOT guaranteed. No mechanism for Knowledge Transfer.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Government of India, Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organisation full-time for more than a year
Pros
1) Working with assembly of launch vehicles and the most advanced tech available in India. 2) Peaceful and take-it-at-your-own-pace work culture 3) Good for people who prefer a laid back approach towards work 4) Some groups are working with really innovative tech. but you have to be really lucky to get posted in those groups.
Cons
The location is really remote. The nearest city is 100 kms away from here. The work sometimes gets really hectic and some sections work round the clock during mission critical times. Most people do repetitive work here. Your learning will plateau after 2-3 years. Very low or no focus on research work or development of new tech. SHAR is an assembly and launch center and senior management here ensures that it remains that way.
