I have been working at Government of India, Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organisation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Technical, no transfer, good salary which will be high enough after 7 pc, balanced work pressure, Tag of ISRO

    Cons

Like other pure govt. sector. Nothing notable except abolition of shift duties for employees at tracking centres is required.

I have been working at Government of India, Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organisation

    Pros

By no means should this review be taken as a parameter for judging the company ISRO as a whole. I was posted at Shar center of the organisation, so these views can be generalised within some limitations for activities and horticulture of Shar. Its is difficult to find any technical work going on here. It is the facility where everything from satellites to stages is brought and assembled. Most so called scientists and engineers are discharging duties of a supervisor and not that of a scientist or even an engineer in their early careers. PROs 1) you can see the launch of a 400ton rocket in front of your eyes, from a km far. 2) rather calm surrounding, though climate is awful, they give respite from city's fast life.

    Cons

there are many, but to summarise a few. 1) research is discouraged. Shar's new scientists were not even given time to finish there IITP projects. Awful. Wasn't the case with other centres 2) Don't come here if you want research 3) work profile of all engineers except electronics is painful for the body
