The good the bad and the ugly
4 May 2021 - Delivery Driver in Jacksonville, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Set or cancel blocks as you like, noncontact Delivery, Don’t have to deal with customers face-to-face, masked phone numbers, After you make so many deliveries you can get paid daily. With GrubHub you can get paid more than once a day if you need to, or you can wait till the end of the week. Occasionally opportunities for bonuses aside from tips.
Cons
Sometimes when the GrubHub driver care cancels an order you may already be there to pick it up you may already be there to drop it off but sometimes when they cancel they do it in a way where you don’t get paid for it. The properly trained associates will do it so you do get paid for it I am improperly trained once will do it and you won’t get paid for it. Scheduling is it 10:20 in the morning the day of scheduling depends on your statistics and scheduling it’s like a feeding frenzy in a shark tank. Sometimes there may be gap gap in the hours that you’re working because they were unavailable blocks

Pros
There are no pros for Grubhub
Cons
They will do everything in their power not to pay you, including lie and blame things on you that were not your fault. If you contact driver care they will tell you to take a hike. I have been screwed out of hundreds of dollars by these people in just 1 year. DO NOT DRIVE FOR THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT

A decent way to make additional income
1 Jan 2021 - Delivery DriverRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Set your own schedule. On a good night I can make $100 or more in 3 hours with same-day pay. You can also end your block early if you really need to.
Cons
Occasional rude or annoying customers (e.g. giving you the wrong delivery address or not responding to calls/texts), occasional incompetent restaurant staff, I can’t always get the blocks I want due to them already being taken, on some days business is slow, Driver Care is outsourced and not always the most helpful when I have a problem with a delivery.

Make up to $25 an hour? Too good to be true
10 Aug 2018 - Delivery Driver in North Attleboro, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You can set your own hours Not required to wear insignia, allowing you to easily do this after a "real" job When it's busy, the pay can be really good per hour
Cons
Not enough busy hours in a week to make a living Dispatchers are petty, and have it out for people who reject very low value orders I suspect my dispatcher in particular does not like women, based on scuttlebutt from other drivers and how they are treated Some people at driver care really struggle with the difference between employee and freelance They will literally call you a fraud (aka a criminal) and remove your scheduling if they do not provide you with enough work to avoid getting the guarantee. This happened to me when I was generally waiting at a central spot within 10 minutes of over 20 restaurants. Multiple people have stated this happened to them on online forums, if you want to check They have almost completely removed off-block deliveries, making drivers dependent on their shift system, which is really questionable from an employee vs freelance viewpoint They won't do anything about bad restaurants that deliberately hold up orders, and won't let drivers leave and do something else when this happens. I've been driven below minimum wage several times because of this

Good for freedom but they don’t care about drivers
14 Sept 2020 - Delivery Driver in North Hollywood, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Freedom, instant cash out, play your music, can be fun
Cons
Driver care team is outsourced and the do everything they can to not help you. Driver payments mess up your money have no phone number so you can call them and delay your pay on a consistent basis

Pros
Better than making nothing at all. You make your own hours.
Cons
The only source of help for the driver is, "Driver Care". When you call driver care, your get a rep from chicago, who does not always have the help you need because of either being poorly trained, or they just simply don't seem to care. When you call, its like a HS cafeteria in the background. People talking over each other, laughing, to the point where you cant make out the conversation.I was not impressed, at all. If you have to email your concerns, it takes 72 hours for a response. Then, 9 times out of 10 their response is, "call driver care"! A department that when you call, you get a different answer, depending on the rep! I did not last very long there, I had to make a living, 10 dollars an hour does not cut it. If your young, and need to make a few bucks and don't want to work at Mickey D's, its ok. If you can't feed your family on 10 an hour, than go west! It will be a very frustrating experience doing so. Senior management is invisible, you cant write to corporate, for even sell their services to restaurants in your areas. I guess they only want to take care of sales reps in Chicago.

No schedules, no percentages, no worries
3 Aug 2017 - Driver in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- flexible work hours, unscheduled and - not much interference from Operators/Dispatchers while on order if you're following their rules - match Drivers with merchants and customer to help build familiarity and relationships -the pay isn't too bad
Cons
-they tell Drivers scheduling is a material part of the agreement and it's never mentioned in the Agreement, ever -I worked for months and months scrounging for hours and working when I didn't want to, when I didn't have to at all. -Harassed, contracts cancelled/ pulled over and over, logged out by Dispatcher when Available, but not scheduled. I was told "you knew the consequences for working without a block." Hmmm, funny, that sounds like a Boss to an employee. -Cancel orders and do not pay even though it is required by Law as long as an attempt was made and the Driver is at the merchant's location. -Lying is a corporate policy. I don't know how some of the Driver Care operators can sleep at night or manage their conscience day to day telling the lies they do. -It's always the Driver's fault when something is left behind or the order is incomplete. Then, GrubHub calls and emails trying to convince you to go back and pick up the item forgotten to deliver it.
