RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Gymshark full-time for less than a year
Pros
Gymshark truly is a terrific place to work. You don't get the usual sense of hierarchy that you would at traditional businesses, with senior management being very approachable and humble. It's genuinely a case of 'best idea wins', no matter whom it came from with everyone striving towards the same goals. You feel empowered in your role, are given the necessary training and support as well as development plan. Above all else, the company preaches a 'family' culture which it 100% follows through with...definitely the best place I've worked at!
Cons
I have been here now for almost 6 months and cannot think of any cons I've experience thus far

Pros
Having been at Gymshark as a Payroll manager for over a year now, I can honestly say it has been the most unexpected journey! Having worked in payroll for over 12 years in various industries and companies, I expected the norm. However this position has been anything but. From the minute I started it has been go go go! Everyday has brought a new challenge, the fast growth of the company has meant that I have been involved in various projects and planning and new opportunities have opened up to me which are greatly progressing my career
Cons
None! Great place to work, great team spirit - proud to work at Gymshark

Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Gymshark full-time for less than a year
Pros
What they do in terms of diversity, mental health, and benefits they give to employees is excellent. The C level / board level staff are inspirational, down to earth and genuinely care about the GS community and live by their core values. * Good People * Good Benefits * Excellent chiefs and inspiring * Genuinely care about the well being of the community and it's staff * Ambitious * Dare to be different * Amazing Office * Excellent team lead in the Software Team
Cons
My journey at Gymshark unfortunately hasn't been a great experience. I didn't have a great on boarding, and the tech was a little bit smoke and mirrors as there is a lot of work to do, in terms of efficiency, test coverage and cicd. Not that it's a bad thing as that's what you hire good people for. Unfortunately morale was quite low in the team I was in, and it's difficult being positive in that environment. I felt that with all my experience I wasn't able to really make difference even though I felt really passionate about making things better. I didn't feel empowered, and felt like middle management said all the right things but never backed anything up with any substance or action. I had good feedback from my colleagues and was doing well there, I just wasn't happy. I felt really restricted. I'm used to making an impact in the business I'm in, going above and beyond to push tech forwards, but always felt restricted and disconnected from other tech teams. The morale around me already seemed broken. They are making a lot of changes, and they are restructuring with a head of engineering role coming up which if they get the right person, can instill great tech culture and really make huge improvements. I'm sure it'll get better, there is alot of good people there who want to make things better. I just was not very happy there after 6 months and time is too short really when it starts impacting how you feel It's important to note this is from my experience in tech. It is a large business and does not reflect on other departments.

Pros
Gymshark pride themselves on the culture, which is great - staff perks, respect across all levels and an open attitude to change mean it’s a great place to work
Cons
The lack of experience of senior employees, those who started with the brand have risen up the ranks with a severe lack of experience meaning those joining the company later on have to ‘get in line’.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Gymshark full-time for more than a year
Pros
Fantastic people, facilities, benefits and support. The culture is great, there is a definitely a focus on the employee wellbeing with mental health, physical health and diversity within the workplace. I love going to work each day.
Cons
This may have been specific to my department but there’s a real lack of career progression, even to a senior executive role. There’s almost a reluctance to promote people, and to facilitate company growth, they would rather hire externally than recognise the effort and loyalty of junior employee who can do just as good a job. It’s quite demoralising being told you’re not good enough to be promoted yet you’re fulfilling the job description of the role you should be promoted to. With the fast growth, there’s frequent change to team structures (which isn’t a bad thing in itself) but in some cases means people are made redundant at short notice and appears quite cut-throat.
