It's a challenging and interesting place to work where you get to be in touch with titans of the hedge fund industry.
Cons
chaotic, no leadership, low pay scale, constantly changing policies, the senior management doesn't have a finance background making it difficult to articulate complex mathematical and financial concepts above, very high employee turnover, and a tough product to sell.

Pros
low pay but not awful - its tough to move up and make some real money....good people and decent benefits. they provide snacks and drinks.
Cons
very middle management type of company. lot of people who have been there forever and aren't ever leaving so it either takes them to get promoted or leave for you to move up...low ball you on salary

Good for first job out of school, Don't stay beyond a year or two.

Exposure to a variety of hedge fund strategies and overall hedge fund industry dymanics.
Cons
It's a family driven organization where family/friends of top management get preferrential treatment over professionals. This is not the place where you'll ever grow professionally unless you know the top management personally. Over the past 5 years the organization's head cout has reduced from 80 something to 40 something with a lot of seasoned professionals replaced by just out of school graduates. Top management is greedy and salaries are very low compared to industry standards and stay that way year after year.

The people, decent work hours in certain departments.
Cons
Base pay is laughable, zero training, culture of complacency, no support for furthering education, the company name isn't as reputable as it once was.

Full flexibility to work from home. Good pay but very basic bonus and little benefits. Very flexible and lean structure, entrepreneurial management.
Cons
For somebody coming from large organisations, this will not only feel entrepreneurial but also unprofessional.

Pros
The ability to network and learn from the vast knowledge and resources present within the hedge fund managers and industry.
Cons
Senior management doesnt respect its employees. Also, over the past 5 years there has been a serious brain drain from HFR as a number of key employees have left.

Pros
Not a bad place to work, decent pay, but never enough
Cons
Not a bad place to work but no advancements for me

Pros
Good launch pad, but don't stay long.
Cons
High turnover; employees aren't valued as long-term assets but rather as expendable.
