    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at HSBC Holdings for more than 5 years

    Pros

    1) Big brand 2) Wide array of business and streams for specific roles or career development 3) good salary if you have skill and negotiate

    Cons

    1) shoots itself on leg as reducing headcount at sametime freezing backfills/hiring every Jul/Aug is the worst thing senior leaders do each year. "Dear SLT please note this, you went nowhere in past and won't in future with same strategy. Cut big sharks not small fishes helping your bank run". 2) "your boss is your God", no skip level, if you try, then you a devil and to be kept away for rest of your life. The... funny part is you escalate on your manager to HR or skip level or CEO it comes to decision in hands of your manager. Isn't it right! 3) move within run the bank business, don't go stagnant, it helps two ways- SLT looks at you like you vastly experienced even if you hibernated during your stint. And stay 20+ years to be contestant of CEO, being a veteran is all it matters. 4 ) Rules are for the followers, remember, boss's slave? - no rules apply, nothing, zilch

    Senior Project Manager in Pune

    I worked at HSBC Holdings

    Pros

If you're looking for a overtly "stable" no tension non aggressive place to work - this is it. They do have some of the best HR practices though and are located in civilization as against the dark side of the moon in Hinjewadi!

    Cons

If you're looking for speed, learning & world class professionalism - this is NOT the place to be. Plus you need to be an old timer - newbies will find it hard to break through the old boy network as knowing the "right" people is important.

    Advice to Management

A cultural change is required - need to define a reason for existance. Is GLT expected to be simply a spill over capacity location OR is it supposed to be an equal driver of change & service levels.
