It's for you to make the most of the opportunities available to you.

I have worked for Hays for 9 years in various roles. I love that I can work for an employer who has given me the opportunity to expand and enhance my skill set. The level of support you will receive is unsurpassed in any other organisation I have worked in. I feel like the company has faith in me to achieve what I set out to do and support me as and when I need it. Yes, we could probably think of little things we would like to improve on, but at the end of the day I work within an environment that is made up of interesting and funny people who make coming in to work all the more satisfying. The people are what make this place great. My direct line manager is amazing and they are definitely a factor into why I have stayed here for as long as I have done. We have a work hard, play hard mentality that is supported and rewarded. The company understands that we need to do more than just work. So we have a charity committee, an advocate committee and even a social committee. We are regularly rewarded every quarter for all our hard work and effort and take the time to recognise hard work.
Cons
I'm greedy, I'd like more of this great thing we have going on here! :-)

Amazing training, support and structured career progression!
10 May 2017 - Recruitment Consultant in Bristol, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Having come from a very different industry where there was minimal training and no career progression I wanted to work for a company where this was clearly structured and you would be support. The initial training is for-nominal and so structured to give you all the tools you would need to become an expert. However this doesn't stop, at every level as you work your way up there is structured training programmes in place. The career progression is endless and it's entirely down to your own performance in a meritocratic culture to get to where you want to be, you are in full control of your career but know you are supported by your managers, directors, colleagues and the business. Not only is there the financial aspect that rewarding but as a corporate business there are many national incentives along with regional and local incentives which makes it a work hard play hard fun culture.
Cons
People say that the cons are the long hours and yes they are but I don't see it as long hours as I enjoy my job.

Hard work but rewarding, financially and professionally
21 May 2014 - Recruitment Consultant in Sheffield, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You get out what you put in. There is the potential to earn a lot of money if youre willing to put in the hard work. If you are nosy like me, and like to find out about people, its the best, I've found people love to talk about themselves and its the best way to build rapport with people. The weeks are long as we work 8:30-6, however the recruitment industry has the reputation work hard play hard so the work life balance is good.
Cons
The long hours can sometimes be draining. You can never get absolutely everything done on your to do list, you often feel like there arent enough hours in the day, so its often difficult to manage your time and prioritize the most important things

Senior Consultant
16 May 2017 - Senior Consultant in Kuala LumpurRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I started with the business as an intern and progressed well with the business. Was given continuous support, training and trust from the managers. A very good management team, led by a passionate & dedicated Director. This is a business that will bring the best of out you, invest continuous training and gives you clear targets to achieve for promotion. Furthermore, the office atmosphere makes it a great working environment with well-respectable colleagues and passionate individuals who enjoy recruitment. It is definitely a work hard - play hard business that will reward you. If you want to know how it feels to be working for a top business that is a leader in the market, this is the place to be. Greatest time of my working life working with these amazing individuals.
Cons
It is a sales-driven environment that will demand hardwork. If you like a good challenge and want to push yourself, this place can be very rewarding.
