I have been working at Hilton Grand Vacations full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Let me start by saying I rarely write reviews for anything, however I felt the need to write this one. I started working for Hilton Grand Vacations call center in Las Vegas in September 2013. I landed there after being fed up with the fly by night companies. My plan was to work in the call center for 6 months and transfer to selling timeshare. Needless to say that didn't happen. Never did I imagine working in a call center selling vacation packages could be so lucrative. My first full year in I made 80k. Not only was the money great but so were the people I worked with as well as management. You form a family bound. The company acknowledges their employees with Award Ceremonies, Dinners at 5 star restaurants. Auctions giving away thousands in merchandise from Tv's, vacations, jewelry etc. Spiffs which involved Amex and Visa gift cards. After 2 (1/2 )years, I decided to follow my passion of selling timeshare but not for Hilton. Needless to day after about 6 months and hoping from company to company the grass was not greener on the other side. I returned back to Hilton and was ecstatic about being back. I transferred to Chicago excited that Hilton had a similar position in Chicago selling same vacation packages face to face to hotel guest. Giving me the opportunity to be around family while not giving up what I absolutely loved. Had this position not been here in Chicago I would still be in Las Vegas. They don't put a cap on your earning potential so you truly create your own paycheck. The team travel program is Top Notch.

    Cons

Standing on my feet all day.

    Advice to Management

Keep Striving For More Vacation Destination

I worked at Hilton Grand Vacations full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. You will find some of the best co-workers you will ever work with. HGV does their best to make the work environment relaxed by catering food and spa day on special events and holidays. The company has a great recognition program and other programs for professional and personal development which is a plus if your direct management allows you to attend. HGV as a company promotes career advancement within. My direct management and team were like family which made work seem painless, the company values and culture played a huge part in that. The other administrative professionals in my area were very helpful and worked well together. Mark Wang, the CEO, visits the sites and shows nothing but love and respect for his employees. He greets has many people as he can. I never witness that before, very admirable.

    Cons

their new software to track pay, time off etc., there wasn't any solid HR support which caused a lot of employees to feel helpless and unheard.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to your hard working devoted employees about advancement. DO NOT provide additional work to an employee so they can gain "practice" for that next step when you had no intention of promoting the employee or even give them a chance for an interview then ignore the employee because you are uncomfortable. It's important to provide the appropiate compensation for the work done as well. If a promotion within is not an option then DO NOT keep your employees from trying to learn new skills to become up to par to your standards.

I have been working at Hilton Grand Vacations full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Generally friendly employees and name brand recognition

    Cons

The managers they hire for New Owner team can't sell, they get paid to walk around, talk about what you need to do to make THEM money. Leads are overworked, too many agents, long hours at the end of the month. 85÷ of the agents are struggling

    Advice to Management

Hire managers from within, not from the outside to which bottom feeders have to train them. Invest in your quality agents by taking focus off the quantity of unexperienced agents you bring in the doors.

    Pros

Help people travel the world!! It’s amazing to see someone’s face after they become owners- you helped people afford to travel like they never dreamed they could actually do. Well worth it. It’s like seeing a kid ride a bike for the first time.

    Cons

Company stock going down- only consider a buy-on-dip move in the context of a very well-diversified portfolio. High employee turnover. (Not always a bad thing, in this case, maybe good, maybe they do it on purpose.) perhaps Improper training. Set up to fail, so you MUST be a self trainer+self starter+self motivated or else inevitably, you WILL fail. Management will let you know this constantly, on the clock, that your job is on the line. Also, a promise of a 6 figure salary. It’s timeshare. Can you hustle? Can you harass people while still being polite?

I have been working at Hilton Grand Vacations full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People you work with are awesome. We all help each other out and cheer for each other which is nice in a sales position . Also, you get awesome team member discounts on rooms and stuff. I work pm shift and management is awesome ! You have off major holidays .

    Cons

The leads are controlled which sucks because it’s not consistent money . So very hard to survive and make a living. Also, coaching they don’t do unless u want to come in 2 hours early which is hard to do for most. Turn over is super high and they don’t seem to care to lose a lot of good people bc you go from doing super well at first to nothing for weeks on in. So it’s discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Act like you care about the employees you have and don’t hold out on leads until when YOU are trying to hit your quotas. Offer more one on one help with people that were top sellers then dropped off .
