    Decent pay.
Good discount - especially now there is no need for a credit card,
    Great colleagues and management team.

    Cons

Same soundtrack all day, which is mind-numbing!
Till system outdated - no contactless payment and super slow.
Short return policy means lots of unhappy/angry customers.

I worked at House of Fraser full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Brilliant people, good atmosphere & a very close knit place to work. Decent discount & good perks

    Cons

Wages are appalling, new staff are brought in at the same money or more than experienced staff. You’ve either got nothing to do or waaaaay too much, there’s no happy medium. Zero chance of progression.

    Advice to Management

Value your staff & pay them what they’re worth, a knowledgeable loyal member of staff is worth more than a new starter who hasn’t learnt the ropes yet.

I have been working at House of Fraser full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Relaxed atmosphere
    Positive and approachable management
    Easy access to targets
    Generally honest and clear communication

    Cons

    Absolutely abysmal computer systems
Till systems seriously slow and outdated (to the point where it affects sales every day)
Management do not want to hear feedback, any suggestions will be seen as being negative
Mystery shop criteria is completely irrelevant and inapplicable to 99% of real customers
Made to hassle customers who want to be left alone
Made to charge for even paper bags
Experienced staff paid the same as new starters, so there is zero incentive to learn or work hard.

    Advice to Management

Investing in fit for purpose technology is the biggest thing you could do to boost sales.
