I worked at Hyatt part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Gained experience in the hotel industry It was a good transitional job

    Cons

My hotel was a franchise so a lot of the problems that I encountered were simply poor management and the owners having a very hands off approach to the standards that the property should have been held to.

I worked at Hyatt part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The employees are nice and the location is also great, plenty of surrounding restaurants.

    Cons

Random work hours. Expected to work various positions regardless of the position applied for. Morning shifts require you to do dishes regardless of your role.

I have been working at Hyatt full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Hyatt is a great place to work, I had the opportunity to work with many driven individuals. Typically a Hyatt employee is very nice, respectful, professional and understanding. The working environment at Hyatt is both amazing and professional, people work together to achieve a common goal, and they would do whatever they can to deliver excellent customer service. Guest satisfaction is basically their most important priority.

    Cons

Some people who have worked there for a really long time are not as helpful and professional as I would hope.

I worked at Hyatt full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Met some Great Smart People

    Cons

The whole Mission statement of "caring for employees" is Smoke and Mirrors. They only care about you if you're willing to sell your soul and become a smiling puppet. The management turns a blind eye to anything good you do, but goes down your throat if you get one small compliant. You can stay late, help clean, cover for other employees, make the company more money, help boast their enrollment program, and push yourself beyond your limits and they'll just give you a pat on the head. But, once you get a compliant (No matter how small it is) they turn word of mouth into word of god. You are automatically guilty and they will never try to get your side of the story. The customer's word is literally the only truth that they will believe. The food is trash and left out all day. The Hotel is falling apart and instead of actually making the repair that are needed, the management just comps the guest for problems they already know. This leads to guests becoming completely entitled in which they will chew you out for just saying NO. The guests are so bad that they will expect you to Break the Law just to Please them. Truly, if you are Young, Smart, and looking to work hard in Hospitality... Stay Away from The Hyatt Reston!!!!
