- Former Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Not applicable- nothing to report.
Cons
Hydro refuses to adopt a WFH policy which restricts them from acquiring top talent. Middle management is often unnecessary and problematic. Compensation is below market rate. Employees are micromanaged, pestered, and disrespected on a daily basis. Promotions are based on longevity at the company and not on merit. Employees can be reprimanded for inappropriate reasons. Turnover rate is increasing rapidly. Some managers are incapable of fulfilling their roles competently.

Cons
Most of the employees at Hydro are 50+ years old. Many of the younger employees are jumping ship. Hydro cannot retain young talent because of its archaic management practices.

When (family) inspectors just relax when jobs are in rush, they ask an engineer to do it?!

Cons
Hydro will not buy any cutting tools for their machinists. Machinists are struggling in daily machining jobs, no tools. All front and no substance. You just going to waist your time.
