I worked at IFDS Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people Free coffee Nice cafeteria Good training and career development opportunities

    Cons

Understaffed teams are overworked. Overworked, experienced associates do not have time to train properly and junior staff are punished. No time for lunch breaks. Even when you work through them (75% of the time at least), you are expected to not report it as overtime event though it's company policy to do so. A manager was once even saying in a meeting, addressing all of the costly overtime: "You guys aren't all reporting STUPID overtime, like lunch, are you?!". If you value lunch breaks, this is not the place for you. Fearful, anxious management. They do not trust employees and treat them suspiciously. The resulting atmosphere is demoralizing and oppressive. Employees are afraid to give their real opinions. Employees are not allowed to use headphones. They are not allowed to listen to a radio! You must keep your phone in a drawer at all times - not great if you are taking care of people who need you. Managers are encouraged to micromanage and diminish direct reports, even if errors are minor, inconsequential, and completely understandable, managers are taught to act manipulative and punitive to make you feel guilty. Very stressed out environment. Very backward style of management that results in high anxiety and low morale. Turnover is very high in TA - probably because of how they treat people. As a result, there are too many new people and fewer experienced people to help train and alleviate the pressure. Because turnover is so high in TA, no one can get promoted out! They also trick A1's from other departments into TA on the basis they will be promoted. They do...but the work is so much harder and morale so much lower...and they never get promoted out. Usually, this place seems like a great place to start, learn and hone skills, but most employees transfer to another bank after about a year or 2.

I worked at IFDS Group for less than a year

    Pros

The company is great at hiring great people to work with and it makes a huge difference coming to work every day. You will get the support that you need and help if required.

    Cons

Training could be a lot better instead of being trained by your own colleagues. No training structure. Workload can be overwhelming at times.

I worked at IFDS Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great company to work for, talented people are recognized and rewarded. Promotion happens fast for talented people. (I was promoted 5 times in 7 years, I know people who got promoted 5 times in 3 years....and deserved everything they got!!) Excellent training program and, while systems are complex, it's better than industry average technology Some great people working there Great place to learn, apply yourself and be recognized

    Cons

Plenty of average people working there who believe they are better than they actually are!! Plenty of self entitled junior people who expect promotion and moan on sites like this when they don't get it Aggressive strategy can lead to stressful times....but staff need to learn to work with it instead of moan about it
