I have been working at IKEA full-time

    Pros

    1. Work life balance. 2. Good exposure to global ways of working. 3. Policies ( as long as they don’t change them)

    Cons

    1. Racism- if you are an expat then you are treated/can behave like a god who can do know wrong. No actions are ever taken against them. 2. Insensitive HR ( or people & culture) team. They are concerned only with their own KPI’s. There was a time when the team used to be super nice and supportive towards Co workers but off late they behave as if they are doing a favour by letting you have your job ( this feedback is not out of LWO frustration as I was appointed to a role) 3. Ikea values are only on paper now. Have heard stories from old Co workers of times when they were lived to the core but now they are just for quoting to the wider public. 4. Immense growth but only if you are close to a TE or a management team member. 5. IPE is a sham don’t fall for it during appraisals. It’s a tool to tell you that you won’t be getting a nice increment. 6. No bonuses for last 4 years. They will say it during offer letter but if you need to ask specifically that when was it paid last time then only truth will come out. 7. Policies impacting your perks and benefits can be changed any time so always negotiate on fixed salary.
