I have been working at Iceland Foods full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay is good but not worth it.

    Cons

Poor training completed in a store that isn’t what working in Iceland is like. Has lots of hours so lots of staff to get the job done. In reality when you get your own store, you have very little hours few staff so have to become a glorified stock handler, checkout operator all while trying to be a store manager. Ensuring the store is legal, health and safety is adhered to. Schedules are up to date, and meeting company KPI’s. In the short time I have been in the company 6 store managers had gone sick/stepped down or quit. If that doesn’t tell you something I don’t know what else will. These were all experienced managers but the company literally broke them. The directors know this and they are papering over the cracks by spending a ridiculous amount of money taking all store managers and above to Las Vegas for a few days. Trust me this is not worth it. Stay away.

I worked at Iceland Foods part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay is good for young people and the discount card.

    Cons

Under too much stress because management do not help around the store, main manager will shout and be in a bad mood with mainly the female members of staff, made to feel like a number and not a person.

I have been working at Iceland Foods part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay, 10% discount, opportunities to climb up the buisness

    Cons

Store hours are directly related to sales. No sales, no hours. Gotten tough recently but thats more just retail just now rather than iceland specific.
