I worked at Imageworks full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Treated better than most places (which is kind of sad). Good benefits. Good projects. Work is usually high quality. Good pay for some. Most people are very nice. Tools are good. Office is a good location. Better organized than most places.
Cons
Very corporate. You'll likely be overworked. They have trouble winning bids because of race to the bottom nature of VFX. You'll probably get sick a lot if you're like me.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Imageworks full-time for more than a year
Pros
- Great people - Innovative history - Good pay and benefits - Free snacks and coffee
Cons
- Super cold and impersonal workplace - Projects are all regurgitations (sequels) and not very exciting - Management doesn't really go out on the floor and mingle with the people - Very corporate - Bad attitudes in employees isn't dealt with, but rather poked fun at, instead of making the hard decisions to get in better people

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Imageworks
Pros
Short hours, good pay. I think the mean well.
Cons
A soul-less, passion-less place. If you care about your work there's no place for you here. If you're prepared to coast and don't care about the poor quality of the work or terrible inefficiency of the pipeline, then you'll probably get promoted.

RecommendsI worked at Imageworks for more than 8 years
Pros
Good pay, PAYED OVERTIME, amazing pipeline
Cons
A lot of OT (but still... it's payed), you never know until the last minute if you are renewed for the next project
"Good place that is unfortunately heading in the wrong direction"
No Opinion of CEOI have been working at Imageworks full-time
Pros
Efficient pipeline, nice people, good pay and work benefits. Ability to work on both feature and VFX shows.
Cons
Beginning to feel like things are too underbid- features starting OT too early in production with stressful unrealistic deadlines. Sustained long overtime and compressed deadlines make it feel factory-like and it will not bring out the best in the artists.

RecommendsNegative OutlookI worked at Imageworks full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
Working with incredibly smart people who know their jobs. A solid well supported pipeline with some of the best tools in the industry. Good pay (in the past), and fair benefits. A great place to learn and grow as a VFX artist (in the past) Decent hours and paid overtime. Grownups with families can work here.
Cons
If you are on a VFX film, there will be some huge egos. Poor to fair producers who are terrible at planning the front-end of production. Unhealthy competition between doltish CG Sups who are all clawing for recognition and stabbing each other in the back for advancement. No advancement based on merit - need to be a maneuvering politico.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Imageworks full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
Great people Good projects Good pay Overall a very cool environment
Cons
Last few years there is a big shift in moving a lot of the work to Canada. Not imageworks' fault, but the entire vfx/animation industry is in growing pains now, and it can be felt all across.
