Pros
Good vacation and holiday plans
Cons
Reneged on remote first policy Business Transformation leadership content with perpetuating current problematic business processes. Implementation of new HR/payroll system resulting in incorrect accruals and missed payments

Pros
Free massage and snacks in the office. Hybrid schedule right now, with work from home on Monday's and Friday's.
Cons
The culture at this company has become so toxic. They do not value their employees at all. There is no transparency in leadership and they do NOT value feedback from employees at all. Very closed door environment and upper management operates like dictators and in turn, the lower level management have all become heartless puppets that enforce harsh rules and expectations unapologetically. They give no autonomy to sales reps whatsoever and are stuck in old school sales methods that is hurting the company and us as reps, since we can't prospect in ways that actually lead to meetings with prospects. The base salary is a joke and not even livable in the city of Austin and the commissions structure is also very unfair and outdated. There are no quota bonuses or accelerators, just a bobblehead to put on your desk. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want to get into sales!

Overworked and Stressed Out

Great people on the team who are passionate about doing the best for students
Cons
Lousy onboarding and training - very much a "do it yourself" kind of situation. Difficult for someone coming from outside the company who doesn't know their products or protocols. Lots of "assuming"

Leadership does not trust or listen to employees
2 Feb 2023 - Inside Sales Representative in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The hire teachers with no sales experience.
Cons
The culture is not good. There is a lot of micromanagement and no trust. Half of our city lost power due to a snow storm and they made those people use their PTO days. They also have a strict rule that you can only be away from your computer for 2 15min increments without clocking out They are constantly pushing for more and more calls and seem to value quantity over quality. Outside sales and upper management are like an old boys (and girls) club. Outside will bully Inside into giving up accounts just because they have been there longer and leadership will almost always side with outside no matter how unfair. It wouldnt matter that much if it didnt mean that you were losing money out of your own pocket.

Good but could be better
30 Jan 2023 - Inside Sales Representative in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This is a good job if you are coming out of teaching. They hire a lot of ex-teachers and do a good job of introducing you to the sales structure and technique. They have a new training manager dedicated to creating professional development so there is no shortage of trainings. You get to work from home Monday and Friday but there has been talk of this changing and going back to office full time.
Cons
The company culture is lacking though. For example at some companies top sales reps will get a large bonus or a vacation, at imagine learning you get a bobble head. There is also a large discrepancy in commission payout. If you get a good territory you could be making 100k if you get a small territory you might be making 60k.

Pros
- Benefits are good. - Flexible work days. - Many ICs are pleasant to work with
Cons
I think the most prominent red flag is the sheer turmoil the company is in. They conducted a massive layoff in December 2022 and then slashed salary ranges dramatically based on their current listings. Imagine Learning is essentially a worse-run version of big tech, and this will only continue to spiral. Leadership struggles to implement industry-standard practices and automation around product, sales, and success. Over 2 years, they switched between multiple CRMs and created too many manual processes. I have seen more nepotism at this company than any other workplace I've been in, from relatives being hired into VP roles and promoting their family members,

Employee Experience

One huge positive about working at IL was everyone's willingness to provide a helping hand when needed. There is no shortage of people able to answer your questions or help you find the answer that you need.
Cons
The largest con I have for this company was their onboarding and training process. When I first came on board, I was partnered up with someone that had already moved onto a new role. I think the individual helped me the best way they knew how but from a company's perspective, I feel they should have more structured training for new employees. Most of the training came in the form of, "slack me if you have a question".

Poor Business Decisions
9 Jan 2023 - Inside Sales RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mostly nice and smart people to work with Good vibes in office
Cons
Leadership seemed to assume the money they got during covid would continue. They have no answers for economic changes. Tech companies are realizing this all over the country, and Imagine Learning is a smaller, less well run version of these large companies we see also laying people off. They overhired and overspent and now are wondering why things are as they are. The decisions make me think they want to do poorly, which is sad because the product and vibe is actually pretty cool. Bad leadership will always ruin a good place. Don't believe pay before job, they're not being truthful to you. The office serves no purpose except to not waste the lease they signed, yet leadership pretends it is so important. Whenever they visit they ignore everyone. People are not treated fairly, and the promise of being so wonderful but really being a poorly run business is a huge let down for employees. Morale is way down and people are jumping ship.
