    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Imperial Oil full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Salary, Pension and Savings Plan

    Cons

Everything else - let me begin by saying I resigned as a highly ranked 6 year employee with no job prospects because working here was THAT bad! Zero work life balance (I worked and/or traveled over 120 weekend/stat Holidays - always to very undesirable locations (Northern Alberta) in 5 years not counting routine 10-13 hour days), be prepared to be bullied/browbeaten by mid-management daily, can’t do ANYTHING without 2-5 levels of hierarchical approval, US Management cutting you down at every turn (Imperil is really a subsidiary of ExxonMobil)… ancient and demeaning ranking system where Employees are pit against “Team Mates” like a Monkey knife fight for rise and standing… I could go on.

    Advice to Management

Swap out your Asset Management and their Minions - Bullies and Wannabees… hire a couple of thousand more people for the amount of work on your plate…eliminate your ancient and demeaning “Ranking System”, empower your Employees to do their jobs!

    Pros

Competitive Pay, Benefits and retirement plan. Great scope of learning if you are a new comer.

    Cons

Politics, too much blaming of each other, ranking system not the right way to gauge employees. Once you become experienced, can be stuck at the same role for many years.
