I have been working at Indian Oil full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fortune 500 company, wide scope for learning, working with multidisciplinary team, good salary compared with other companies in India. good medical facilities.

    Cons

Reservation for promotion of low casts employees without giving credit to merit or contribution. Superannuation of employees on attaining the age of 60 years. After superannuation benefit is poor.

    Advice to Management

Open promotion policy for all employees without any kind of reservation and should be on the basis of merit and contribution to company. Superannuation benefit to be increased or settled as per commitment. Employees should be allowed to work beyond the age of 60 years in view of increase of average life span and that for sound health and contribution to company.

I worked at Indian Oil full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some initial perks like furniture, car loan on joining location. Now these facilities are provided by most reputed companies as well or there's financial institutes to take loan for car.

If one has aspiration to work in remote /interior area, she/ he would enjoy working in such remote/interior area as one of the highest paid salaried employee.

My take, if one want to prepare for upsc/ies/cat with self study, join in some 8hrs shift based operation work like terminal (activity labour supervision , oil truck loading/rail wagon unloading, taking dip after climbing over giant oil tanks etc.), LPG bottling plant ( supervision of labour in factory floor). Make a strict 1 yr/ 2yr plan to get out of this place. Stay away from sales. Unnecessary pressure&meaningless travelling in field.

    Cons

Worst place to work in every way.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your regressive mentality of dinosaur age.
