I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Most of the reviews are a reflection of a particular business group, leadership or manager. I have worked with 5 different managers from 3 different geographies, so I guess I can rate it well: - Fantastic work culture, very employee-friendly, human, sensitive and responsible. - An amazing pool of talented people, across the world. International exposure is amazing. - If you are a part of a COE (centre of excellence), you would be working on cutting-edge technology. - Ample infrastructure, like dev machines, HW, SW, and lab space (of course on a justifiable basis) - Most of the managers are encouraged not to micro-manage and connect with people well. - Huge office space (In Bangalore at-least), open areas, Gym, multiple cafeterias, good food. - If you are a good performer, you will enjoy a good salary and benefits. - This is far better a place than it feels from outside news and talks about it.

    Cons

    - Very (very) slow in decision making, due to huge beaurocracy levels. It seems impossible to put everyone on the same page. - People on the Technical ladder feel powerless/unheard after a particular level, and its extremely difficult to convey a change to the top levels. - Business decisions related to a product mostly come from top-bottom, and execution teams have very little say. If you have a moron at the top, as an architect, forget about logical work distribution. - Slow growth at higher levels, you are expected to please everyone to move up, without being a threat to anyone. - Too much duplication of work across the world. Many business groups and product teams do the same, what COE does, maintaining their codebase in several different places and tools, causing an absolute waste of time for everyone. Overall, if you have an appetite for aggressive growth, or you want to contribute big in business/product, you might not find this to be an exact match. But if you want a steady and constant growth with very good work-life balance, this is the place for you.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Amazing Opportunities to grow and learn. Extremely streamlines processes set up in the company

    Cons

Middle management tends to form groups, leading to office politics and gossip...and wrong/one side information about employees reach the decision making authority, which stagnates growth when there is no Manager FOR the subordinate, but the Manager behaves like he has to bear with a bad hire.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get to work on great technology. The projects are good and the jobs are exciting. Peer culture is usually friendly at engineer level. You get appreciated (mostly) for the good efforts, recognition culture is encouraged. GPTW (great place to work) activities are encouraged. You get more or less the compensation amount specified in the offer letter (though you will receive some of it in form of stocks), unlike some companies where CTC and in-hand salary may vary much.

    Cons

The growth may be slow compared to peer companies. Depending on group, the work pressure may be more. Decision making for project is usually slow.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * India Organization policies are reasonable , Offers free transport and standard medical plans * Work life balance is reasonable * Salary was better than market and services companies until some time back

    Cons

    * This is NOT a place for senior technical leaders to grow their career * The company as a whole is bleeding money in Mobile and tablet area and is so far unable to make a dent * The India organization lays off people in hundreds from at regular intervals , however the media does not report it * Ethics is championed in the media, however senior management does not treat junior leaders ethically * Severance packages have been reduced lately and are nowhere close to generous * Everything depends on US management and what they feel and think abut you, Your work rarely counts * Organizations are extremely political with mostly dirty politics at senior levels * Little real work happens at senior management levels in US and India and its all about who is whose good books * India management and HR have little to no say in any area. Everything is run from US geo.India HR is virtually non existent and does not protect the org. * Technical growth is limited as scope is defined within what the organization wants to do * Zero to very little onsite openings * Senior leadership and decision making Roles are created in US geo's ONLY as strategy is to make India in a flat back office like delivery center staffed with junior people * Person risks unemployability in the market if he remains in this Org for too long as skill erosion happens due to little work and more politics * Night calls almost everyday with people in PST(California) timezone
