    Pros

You build lasting friendships here. It's eventually about the relationships built over the work

    Cons

The 'mission' is often abused in terms of getting you to work over and above whats expected of you without fair pay

    Pros

Can no longer think of any

    Cons

Once a passionate and committed NGO with people who were sold out for the cause Now riddled by internal politics. Those who dissent are sidelined and those who suck up and say yes are...no guesses there... promoted...and not just promoted but catapulted to leadership positions. Not exactly what one expects from an NGO that defines itself as professional , right?

I have been working at International Justice Mission full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Having worked in the NGO field before, I can definitely say this is one of the more professional places. Being pioneers, it is possible that IJM has made mistakes in the past, but the wonderful thing is that everybody--even the leadership--is not shy to admit it. Most of the casework taken is groundbreaking in the region and that means there are no precedents. How does one succeed without a few failures? IJM is a growing organisation, currently in its teenage years! Does not bring the predictability of some of the larger "more famous" NGOs. Works collaboratively with the government to ensure that change is sustainable. I love the energy and passion with which my colleagues approach their work. I love how people live their faith without pushing it down the throats of people they work with.

    Cons

While work is unpredictable and brings new challenges and goals every year and though a particular profile keeps evolving, there are few opportunities to grow upward.

    International Justice Mission Response

    February 24, 2016

THANK YOU for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback. I am so glad to hear you are loving your time here. We have certainly learned a lot as we have grown. It is truly astounding to see how that growth translates into a capacity to help so many more people. I agree with you that our teams in the field have been pioneering groundbreaking work, and I could not be more proud to support and work alongside them. Thank you again for your thoughtful review. - Blair

The vision and mission is very clear, and this is well understood by employees. The CEO has humbly and professionally led the organization through the years. His consistency has given the organization credibility
