Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Ipreo full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Firm has a good client base of major and prestigious clients, helpful for making useful contacts for the future and learning about the business. Good work life/balance overall. Easy field to get in in terms of learning curve for newbies or people coming from other fields
Cons
Not much money in IR business overall, therefore pay and opportunities are limited for the vendors servicing this area, this isn't the company fault but it is a limited niche market not seen as major growth area from a client (corporate) point of view. Not the most exiting field to be in . Firm has since then been merged into IHS Markit so things may have changed in terms of opportunities but the basic challenges remain.

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Ipreo full-time for more than a year
Pros
I've been with Ipreo for almost two years now. There has been a tremendous amount of change in that time and for all of the right reasons. Employees are encouraged to bring their ideas to the table and make change happen. Because of that we are now offered more paid time off for maternity/paternity leave, two days off per year for community engagement, an expanded internship program that serves as a pipeline for our newly launched Ipreo Leadership Program (rotation program for entry level hires) and the opportunity to own your career. I've seen several reviews that highlight owning your career as a con and I absolutely disagree. Ipreo fosters an environment that encourages teammates to speak up for themselves and bring their whole true selves to work. I am a firm believer that you own your career and if you put in the work you will definitely see the results.
Cons
Ipreo is still playing catch up with it's internal technology. Wifi was implemented last summer and that was a huge win. There isn't an intranet site where you can go and find information/documents and that can be a struggle. The pace is also incredibly fast. I find that I thrive in a fast paced environment, however, this is unlike anything I've ever experienced. We put new ideas into motion very quickly without a lot of red tape. This is a great thing however I find that it definitely impacts my work life balance at times.

RecommendsNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Ipreo
Pros
Ipreo has a competitive benefits package, but like most companies has decreased its 401K matching to 2%. Your vacation days and sick days are all lumped together as PTO, so no need to fake a sick day. Employees who can work via blackberry have a lot of flexibility when it comes to necessary appointments to the doctor, problems with your car, or issues with your children/family. Managers who came from the smaller organizations that are now part of the Ipreo corporation are very easy going and supportive of your personal growth and work/life balance.
Cons
Ipreo has more than its fair share of politics. As with many firms that have grown exponentially in a short period of time through acquisitions and mergers - there is a certain amount of power struggles between previous sole manager/executives as well as a Big Brother type of atmosphere. Certain parts of the business are really hurting from the state of the capital markets right now but others are hanging in and some thriving.

Pros
Great staff and management. The analysts I reported to directly were great guys and really wanted to see me and the other GMI interns succeed. I also got very little mundane work, and a lot of what I was doing was impactful and actually useful to the team I worked on. The pay was decent, and there is a great work-life balance since it's fin-tech that's really hard to find at other companies. Also the entire executive team is great.
Cons
Nothing in particular, maybe try stocking up on trail mix two days a week, as it runs out by Tuesday weekly.
