I have been working at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Spoons, great place to work for, perfect for students, flexible working hours across the day. If you want a sit down 9-5 life this isn’t the job for you. Bonuses, above minimum wage, max 10 hour shifts, min of 12 hours rest before your next shift. Work hard and be rewarded. After years in the company leaving now would be a waste. Great progressional route

    Cons

Newbies get thrown in the deep end

I have been working at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Meet many new people and a great place to develop a career and learn new skills. 20% discount when not on shift and free food when on shift. After 18 month can sign up to free shares.

    Cons

Must be a fast paced worker or you will struggle here. Shift patterns aren’t fair and mostly understaffed. Underpaid for the amount of responsibility they put on you. Work 365 days a year, a weekend off is a miracle.

I have been working at J D Wetherspoon part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

High bar pay, extremely competitive. Easy to progress through levels given the right mindset. Very easy to transfer between pubs ideal for students or people who haven't settled. Quite simple to set up strict availability

    Cons

Management can vary from really good to downright unbearable. Very high turnover of staff >60%. Have to deal with a lot of toxic situations, depending on the pub/area can be extremely difficult to deal with. Hours can be ruthless if the rota manager doesn't like you. Quite often students which is not necessarily a bad thing but often they don't give a toss about the work just do it for the money.
