Pros

Cons
jive software is good for freshers looking for specific direction but they dont give any kind of chance to grow in different direction
- Former Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
Jive had an amazing culture of amazing people who have moved on to uplift competitors and create successful startups. The culture of mutual respect was so strong that a very large contingent of employees stay in touch, make recommendations for each other, and generally look out for each other.
Cons
Aurea swooped in for the IP and customer list while demonstrating that they didn’t even fully comprehend the value or even the function of the product they were buying. They showed their hand on day one of the takeover in 2017. They showed that they had no respect for employees, nor for customers, and definitely not for security standards and certification that was hard fought for and won. Almost immediately they violated security protocols for certain customers and Jive's FedRamp status. Current management is unethical and purely self-serving. They must have done the back-of-napkin calculations before the takeover that they’d make their investment money back purely off the customer renewals for three years, while old loyal customers scrambled to find a replacement platform they could migrate their data to. Currently, as employers, they require spyware installed by IT on your own WFH equipment as part of your employment contract so that they may take screenshots and log keystrokes, just so they can make sure you’re being “efficient.”

It Was a Good Company Not Anymore Since The Acquisition By Aurea LLC/Cross Over
RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Office amenities, coffee, snacks and drinks provided daily. Excellent employee support for computer related equipment. For the most part good cross team collaboration.
Cons
Now that Aurea LLC owns Jive. It's now the worst place I've worked at. The office building was closed, forced to work from home. You have to pay out of pocket to repair or replace computer related equipment. No vacation or sick time. You have to "clock In" virtual time clock. Any time off is at no pay regardless of use case. This even includes maternity leave.

Pros
Was great, they cared about people
Cons
Now dead, Viva la jive

Pros
Certain roles pay very well.
Cons
Worksmart - they will track time spent in different applications, keystrokes, take pictures with your webcam. Some managers barely use it, but don't be surprised if in a weekly 1-1 you have to answer questions like, "why did you spend 3 hours more than the team average in X application?" While they claim to expect nor more, nor less, than 40 hours per week of actual work, you will end up working far more than that. That's 40 hours in front of your PC. Aurea. Remember that ultimately you work for Aurea. A company whose business model is literally to make bad copies of software and sell them as "less complex" or, "enterprise first" products. It is trying to actually be an innovator with Jive, but i am not optimistic about Aurea's ability to do so. Turnover. Don't get too chummy with your coworkers, odds are they wont be around for long.

Pros
The original Jive had a great culture
Cons
Since Jive was sold, the company went downhill
- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
The people are great. Top engineers, product managers, etc. Generally super folks in almost departments. Everyone pitched in to help each other and find solutions to some tough problems. Collaboration at Jive was not just a motto, it was practiced by most everyone. A lot of respect between teams and co-workers. Just a great place to work.
Cons
In a 1-1/2+ years I reported to 5 different managers with 5 different management styles. However, most were very good people managers.

Brewspace was the most excellent of all the things that were Jive.
Cons
Brewspace is now read only

Pros
It depends on your perspective. If you compare working for Jive to working for some other poorly rated company than you might find some pros. If you compare Jive to even just an average software company you will not find any pros. Those that existed died with the acquisition (if they aren't gone yet they are on their way out the door).
Cons
The company was acquired by Aurea Software in 2017. Aurea has crushed the culture and is slowly eroding the customer base. Jive is a sinking ship.
