    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at John Deere full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Less Work or No Work
    Employee Sensitive

    Cons

    Not for Serious Technical Aspirants
    Lazy Work Environment
    Ethics - My Foot!

    Advice to Management

Honestly, its not an ethical company as they claim to be, at least the Pune Technology center.

First, it only takes college graduates and nurtures and baptizes them into their 'Deerized' culture, which is no great than any average company culture.

Second, if the laterals join, they are moulded into their culture by hook or crook. If you resent and express yourself, you are shown the door, even if it requires overriding their so called ethics.

You are pushed to the corner, so you feel you have no other option left except leaving the company.

Be careful with your annual Employee Satisfaction survey comments. The managers are so skillful to track you down and avenge your misadventure. HR is just another dumb-ass dept, which supports only these 'ethical' managers.

There is so much emphasis on People, that People Managers spend their life cleaning People's cheddis and changing their diapers. Its the most laziest environment where people spend most of their time in cafetaria gossping and still complain about work-life balance.

If you aspire to be a great technical guy, Forget it! Don't go near that building in Magarpatta. You will rut and retire, but never learn anything new and grow.

Deerized People boast about their loyalty, in fact they know they can't survive outside, because one has to 'work' in other companies.

I worked at John Deere full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Opportunities to work with global teams
    - Opportunities to work on latest technologies
    - Onsite Trips
    - Decent Pay
    - Great US Team and Stakeholders

    Cons

    - for some policies like work from home , flexible hours etc. you need to take approval of manager and most of the time they don't allow you.
    - People gets promoted just because they are manager's favorite, without any technical skills.
    - Poor Middle level management, doesn't contribute much technically instead tries to hinder work by introducing unnecessary processes.
    - Some TCI Managers are very old school, they don't believe in open culture.
    - Contingents are not treated fairly.

    Advice to Management

Some managers were forcing employees to write good reviews in employee engagement surveys.
