I worked at Konami Gaming, Inc. full-time

    Pros

    - Great coworkers - Low stress - Very little overtime

    Cons

After COVID hit in March, we were very quickly shuffled to working remotely. This transition went more or less smoothly. Mid-May (and after a month long furlough in April), we were all told we were required to be physically back in the office by the start of June. All protests about safety, effectiveness in working remote, or anything else were shut down completely. We were told that upper management did not trust people to work from home. Upon returning to the office, compliance with wearing masks and social distancing was extremely low and left entirely up to the individual. At the end of June, two employees tested positive for COVID and Human Resources did not inform us until weeks later, and seemingly only because word started to spread about the positive cases. Konami's response to the pandemic has been, much like the US response itself, a case of putting profits before people. I understand when you work at a large corporation like this, you are just a column in a spreadsheet at some level, but the flagrant disregard for employee well-being and the refusal to acknowledge and adapt to the extraordinary circumstances of a global pandemic soured my opinion of this company faster than I ever could have anticipated. Steer clear of working for Konami until well after COVID is gone or until you hear that they have made a complete shift in their policies.

I have been working at Konami Gaming, Inc. full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The building looks nice to show off to people in a shallow sense.

    Cons

Other reviews pointed out that this company is top heavy. Other reviews say this company micromanages people. All true. When execs are hired and the lower underlings are laid off but then there is no difference in the production pipeline there's something wrong. When managers are constantly clamoring for spreadsheets about your time spent instead of the actual work you are doing, this all illustrates one thing. This company does not trust any of its people. Every email from HR is always laden with some kind of threat. It is never positive reinforcement but always negative consequences. This is no way to run a company especially in the times we are in. When we emerge from this pandemic people will remember how companies reacted. This company does not realize the long term consequences of how they are reacting. This company thinks that working from home endangers the well being of the company but they have some long term employess that do work from home. How does that work? Hypocrisy. It's okay to endanger some people but not others from this pandemic? Is this a meat packing company? This company is a technology company but they run it like it's 1990. This is why it took over 20 years just to make any gains.

I worked at Konami Gaming, Inc. full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It beats flipping burgers and making fries.

    Cons

Toxic atmosphere. Constant bickering. Teamwork here means do what they say. Micromanaged to the umpteenth amount. Clicky groups exist and if you're not in then you might as well count on never going anywhere here. Probably the biggest thing here is gossiping. Separate departments gossip about other departments big time here spreading division. Within departments people gossip at all levels from managers on down. With gossiping there is division, and with division there is no unity, and where there is no unity, there is no cohesiveness, and where there is no cohesiveness, there are cracks, and where there are cracks, it eventually breaks. Seriously, the company handbook is worthless with all of that going on. Hiring more managers only adds layers of ambiguity and know close to nothing what really goes on. Seriously, do you need a manager that manages another manager that manages another manager on top of a project lead as well as gossip? Okay. if that's the way it is so be it.

I have been working at Konami Gaming, Inc. full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent Benefits Knowledgeable and Friendly People This place will treat you well if you treat the company well. They have incredibly high standards and hire exceptional people who enjoy pushing themselves to perform at the highest levels every day. Company stability and growth are their number one priorities and the people that work here are the foundation for those priorities.

    Cons

There are always a few questionable apples in every bushel and this place is no exception. However, the company will eventually find those questionable apples and throw them out.
