Good company, in deep deep trouble
25 May 2017 - Assistant Manager in VadodaraRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good HR practices with relation to employee engagement and training needs. Clear description of roles and responsibilities. Facilities provided for employees are comparable/ better than peers in the industry. Technologically superior in the field. Good pay and performance rewards, but only if you stay long enough and cross the executive/ engineer levels. Sincere attempts at maintaining work life balance in the management office campus.
Cons
Utter scarcity of projects due to poor vision, leading to retrenchment of good quality staff. Poor growth opportunities due to lack of projects. No policy on employee retention, or transfer of employees with little/ no work to other units of L&T that are hiring. Location of single management office without any branches elsewhere in India, especially closer to the offices of its main customers (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai etc). Pay is decent only beyond the entry executive levels; there will be tremendous work pressure and politics involved before you can cross these into the management levels. Little to no respect/ higher education support to Diploma holders. Present working sites are far flung in remote villages, where there is no question of work life balance.

It lays great emphasis on training and development 4. Provides opportunity for internal transfers to other L&T companies, departments and functions depending upon business needs 5. Very experienced management 6. High on ethical pillars 7. Many supplementary benefits for employees 8. Work culture is good and provides good work life balance

1. Slow career progression as it is based more on number of years of experience than purely upon performance. 2. Performance evaluation system needs revamping 3. Remuneration lags behind industry standards 4. More challenges and lower growth probability for lateral entry candidates 5. Not many projects for long term sustenance 6. Lacks competitive edge when bidding for power projects 7. Slow on innovation and adaptability to change

Pros
Good company to learn, you will given the opportunity to do lots of work if uou wanna do that leads to u to overburden. 30 PL 8 CL 8 SL. If u have a casual working approach good place to work.
Cons
You will not be rewarded according to your work, worst pay structure , they give you yearly retention whatever pay they increase . Overburden lead to over pressure. If your boss is overspoken and recognisable than good for you else no recognition. If you love to work than u will soon feel monotonus. Work life balance for careless prople.
