I have been working at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice people and nice facilities. They can pay well, depending on your level. Longer term employees tend to have a high level of pride and loyalty.

    Cons

It's not a great place to work if you are not very detail oriented. And, they don't like to change the way they do things, so be prepared to assimilate.

I have been working at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    1) Industry leader 2) Willing to invest for growth 3) Very concerned about meeting customer needs and expectations 4) Quality is important

    Cons

    1) SAP conversion was a disaster that is causing pain throughout the company 2) Senior management works 24/7 and expects that from other team members 3) Time is constantly wasted due to accounting focus of senior management 4) Career opportunities designed around P&G hires from a few years back. Don't expect to come in and lead as the P&G team has been slated for most leadership roles. 5) 75% of employees have been there 15-20 years and punch the clock. Many of these are "C" players who should have been let go years before. You will end up doing their work. 6) Expensive health care benefits, lousy annual merit increases, long vesting period for other benefits. 7) No work/life balance. Two senior leaders died during my first year at LFC due to heart attacks/stroke. Senior managers have forsaken their families for LFC and are rewarded with cars, golf memberships, and families that despise them. 8) Good employees leave quickly after arrival.

I have been working at Leprino Foods

    Pros

    - If your from a dairy science background this is the big leagues, I feel sorry for you. - Free Block of Cheese at Christmas - #1 Mozzarealla cheese maker in the world. Your friends will be very impressed if they are losers. - Work is evenly distributed, everyone gets lots.

    Cons

    - No Summer Hours. In fact, Fridays are usually longer days because that’s when you have all your meetings with coworkers who have been traveling all week. - Found myself working on the weekends to keep up with all the useless reports they wanted - Just nine paid holidays - No vacation for your first 6 month, it doesn't even accrue during this time. - When traveling ( and theres lots ), its hard to buy a decent meal on the low per-diem. And its not the type of per-diem where you get to keep what you don't spend. - As someone else mentioned, you are not allowed to have a drink with your per-diem ( How infantile ) -Dry atmosphere in the office, conversations with your co-workers are like talking to fence posts.

"The company offers world class products, it has realized its Vision (made their vision come true), has no clue it's 2011"

I have been working at Leprino Foods

    Pros

Great place to learn how to leverage and implement economies of scope and scale. This company is the world's largest Mozzarella cheese manufacturer, and has contracts that many people envy. They know what they are doing from the perspective of the product itself.

    Cons

Most of the negative feedback on this site is true. Many of the positive feedback is somewhat outdated, if it is from 2009 and earlier. For example, some mentioned that the pay was good... Guess what, the pay is below average for what the Bureau of Labor statistics published for 2009. If you feel that 2 weeks of vacation is ok for the first year, then you're set. Many companies nowadays grant upwards of 4 week or more just to start. A vesting schedule of 6 years is reminescent of old models from 2001 that shifted to two to three year vesting schedules. In one word one can state that this company is outdated. It has survived this long because their products are good, there is hardly anyone who has not had them in the USA - have you ever had Domino's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell? If you are not on the side of the business that produces revenue, don't expect anything positive. This, however is not uncommon in other companies / industries. So again, outdated. Concepts such as Risk Management, Succession Planning, Planning, Work-load balancing, and unfortunately respect are close to non-existent. They almost solely care about their busineas alone. They want to grow, but are not growing their support structures as part of that growth. Plenty of people are leaving the company voluntarily and involuntarily. There is no sincere effort to find replacements.

    I worked at Leprino Foods

    Pros

There were many good people who worked there. The 401k and profit sharing plans were nice. The vacation time was acceptable -2 weeks in 1st year.

    Cons

This is a company that utilizes guilt to control it's employees, and has a "what, you are not a team player? attitude. Beware of Chinese Salary. You may be expected to put in many hours to be a true team player for a flat rate. Insurance costs were becoming exhorbitant.
