Pros
It's a good company to get experience with as they are unable to retain top talent but gives capable and talented employees the experience needed to grow elsewhere.
Cons
Very toxic management who care to tell you that they care but don't care to do anything about actual issues. They retain yes men...literally. Very few people with different demographics other than white and privileged despite the company vocalizing their concerns about the lack of diversity and equal opportunity for all. There is no room for growth especially if you're outside the white male demographic. The work life balance is non existent as many tenured people have left and with them their years of knowledge. There was very little effort to relieve teams of the stress that came with the shipping crisis during covid despite teams requesting help repeatedly. Raises are given at a 3% rate if you perform above expectations and do more than what the job calls for. When you do more, you are not overcompensated and rewarded in any kind of way. Very defeating environment. If you don't have experience you can get it here so you can find a company that values you and so you can find a company where you can grow. Leprino will not give you that growth opportunity and will not value you. It's a very stressful stepping stone to a better situation if you need it. Hopefully the company works to become more equitable and progressive. It's currently very dated and trying to live in a completely different world than when LFC was first established with the same strategy.

Pros
Competitive pay. This is a billion dollar company so they can afford to pay you a higher wage which is usually the most appealing thing about partnering with them. They are a food manufacturer so, technically, you will be categorized as an essential worker, which means during the last two years of the pandemic, we were still gainfully employed and continued working without missing a beat. Benefits aren't bad. Most of the teammates within departments generally seem to get along with one another. A fairly diverse environment. As of late, there appears to be a call to action in response to a significant percentage of workers breaking ties with Leprino in search of opportunities elsewhere. Whether it is because desperate times are calling for desperate measures or that the management teams are finally deciding to listen to their employees' concerns (probably the former) there does appear to be a more sincere need for pivoting and approaching company culture from a new angle. Not a bad place to work if you know what you are committing to and if you have the right perspective and work ethic to deal with an organization that still has room for improvement. There are a few leaders within some departments that are worth their weight in gold. Unfortunately, weeding out the ones who are not is not a priority of upper management.
Cons
Work schedules are probably one of the most challenging aspects of adjusting to this company. Unless you are salaried or are lucky enough to find one of the job titles that actively pursues providing employees with weekends off, expect to work weekends more than you don't. Expect to work holidays. Expect overtime if you do not hire in one of the jobs that actually has a 3rd shift (some jobs only have 2nd shift and that means you stay until the job is done, more often than not- nobody is coming to relieve you). Not all jobs have a break relief operator or a designated vacation relief operator, so that means that employees within a sub-department have to carry the burden of providing said relief for those employees who need a break or call in or who go on vacation, which can sometimes translate into long work weeks and 12 hour shifts at times. They pay you for your work but it's also nice to feel appreciated and that your concerns as a contributing member to their overall company objectives are being sincerely listened to. At times, you will take surveys in order to provide management with the feedback that they will apparently use in order to implement positive change but the majority of the working class feels that this is just lip-service as no significantly noticeable changes have been consistently implemented based on this feedback. You get paid weekly and, sometimes, you might work six, seven, eight, nine days or more before you get your next day off, if there are employee shortages. And, because it is a weekly paycheck, you will not be getting overtime for all of those extra days because of the way they dissect your days off in between pay periods. And you also don't get time and a half for working weekends like at most other manufacturing facilities. They are a '24/7' operation so that's sort of the loophole to not paying employees the coveted weekend pay that other companies offer. It can feel like a one-sided business partnership at times, like forepersons and managers expect things from their operators that they don't also expect from themselves. They have room for improvement in terms of creating a diverse leadership pool. Some jobs should have more than one operator, at times, running an area or a machine but this is generally not the case, likely why they can afford to pay the higher wages that they do.
